"Now listen, fellow," said Desmo. "You've done the right thing by telling the truth. You actually seem kinda smart, and I don't how you got mixed up with this lot. Now tell you what. How's about you turn over a new leaf? You help us out while we're here, and we won't turn you in to the police when we're through. What do you say?"

((I'll wait for Hour-Man's intentions before making this supporting cast recruitment roll.))

Hour-man thinks for a second about getting some dynamite and some construction crew to leveling this place but then thinks about the lives and not the zombies and lets that thought pass. He paces for a second and says, "you see anybody here against their will, hostages? what did you steal besides money? any science materials, break into any labs or any military labs? Anybody you see here a public official or connections with the police?" As far as the captain suggestion, " hmm another hired hand is not a bad idea and a new leaf since you are the only one that has cooperated? "

Carl Bradley looked around. "The three of you? Against dozens? Wow, I like your gumption. Alright - I'll throw in with you and help.*
Carl thought about Hour-Man's additional questions. "No, I don't know about any prisoners. We've mainly been stealing valuables, but there was this one time some of the boys were given a weird shopping list and told to rob a hospital. I don't remember what was on the list, I never saw it. No, no military raids; I don't think Dr. Arman is that confident yet. I've never seen a cop or elected official here...but then, I'm not present if Dr. Arman is entertaining guests."
"Do we have enough information?" the Sandman asked. "Maybe we should not stay here much longer. South, or back east?"
((*Really good SCM recruitment roll there! Are the Heroes taking the hoodlums' cash? Carl snatches it all up if you don't.))

((Wow! Just a shot in the dark really. Really glad the SCM roll worked out.))
Desmo clapped Carl on the back in a friendly way, and gave him 1/4 of the cash. And said,"We aren't in the business of stealing, but we do take care of our own. Welcome aboard."
"I'd like to know what was taken from the hospital and I think we've done enough here for now and should head back," said the Cap. "We might be able to learn what we're up against and how to prepare against it. What do you think Hour-man?"

Hour-man says, " heading back is probably an option here. We also could use the spectre and zatarra support if undead is involved. Although we could take a look around longer. Although carl, is there a lift/elevator in this building? "
Hourman does asks, " if there are multiple robberies, Sandman how is ur hero rep with the police. We might have to get them involved to raid this place."

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (and Sandman, Carl Bradley) Monday May 22, 1940, 6:35 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street
Answering Hour-Man, Carl said, "There's no elevator that I know of. There are two staircases down to the third floor, and the one on the far end of the building goes down to the second floor as well.
Answering Hour-Man, the Sandman said, "I'm as wanted by the police here as Carl likely is. The difference is that I'm innocent, other than charges of vigilantism. I won't be able to go to the police."
"Good thing I haven't fallen in with saints," Carl said with a shrug and a chuckle.
After that there was a silent pause, during which everyone heard the door handle to the south jiggle, as if someone was checking it.

Hourman quietly moves to the door to see if it opens to get ready to attack if someone enters

Yes, Desmo moved in with Hourman to get ready to give whatever villain appears a fat lip.

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (and Sandman, Carl Bradley) Monday May 22, 1940, 6:36 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street
The door opened, held by a hoodlum carrying a crowbar in his off hand. Behind him was a hoodlum with a baseball bat (and baseball cap), and a third one with a sawed-off shotgun.
The Sandman was in the center of the room, to draw their attention, but holding up one of the prisoners in front of him as a living shield.
Hour-Man clipped the lead hoodlum in the chin with a punch that almost missed, and then Captain Hawkman followed up with a punch to the face, giving the hoodlum a fat lip, and sent him sprawling to the floor. The crowbar rolled out of his hand as the hoodlum lost consciousness.
((End of surprise turn. Bad guys go first in regular turn 1, but fail their morale saves, so...))
The hoodlum with the shotgun turned and ran, so terrified that he dropped his shotgun and it went off when it hit the floor, making a loud BOOM! and wrecking the wall of a hallway outside the room.
The remaining hoodlum looked back, shook his head, pulled his cap lower, and turned around into a batter's position. "I guess it's the bottom of the eighth and the bases are loaded," he said. "It all comes down to me...which of you boys wants to pitch first?"

Hourman says, " well time to see if I am the next Bob feller. We are going to have to take him or his buddy out quick as the noise will bring the others. " Hourman then tries to grab the crowbar and wreck it ( snap it in half) in front of the hoodlum

Desmo shook his head at the last hoodlums folly, and pitched a gumball at the man like a real baseball pitcher throws a ball at the stadiums.

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (and Sandman, Carl Bradley) Monday May 22, 1940, 6:37 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street
Hour-Man didn't break the crowbar, but he did bend it impressively.
Captain Hawkman threw the gumball and, while it wasn't directly over the "plate," it was really close.
"Go on, beat it, Danny," Carl said. "Can't you tell you'd be no match for these guys?"
But Danny was now crazy determined. He even took a step forward, but seemed uninterested in attacking first.

The Cap finally got annoyed and pulled his gun and said, "Ok Danny, you got three choices. Beat it, as Carl says. Or, two, eat lead. Or, three, drop your bat and surrender. Now what's it going to be, punk?"
