((I think Hour-Man used up his first aid kits in the past, but since I didn't mark them all off of his Hero record sheet, we'll say he still has one.))
Hour-Man applied first aid to the Sandman's sore arm, putting a splint on it under the sleeve. ((Through the magic of game mechanics, this gives Sandman back 1 hp))
Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (and Sandman) Monday May 22, 1940, 6:27 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street
The men had IDs in their wallets that identified them as all being from Pennsylvannia, though not necessarily here in Philadelphia. They had $17 in cash between them, but searching them yielded no clues as to their purpose in being here.
Of the two fainted men, the one with the mustache was chosen to slap a wake. Since he had only fainted, it took only a minute of slapping to wake him up.
"The Sandman! I should've known not to mess with you! And these other guys!" the man who's ID said he was Fred Roach blurted out. "You can't make me talk - okay! Just don't hit me! We're working for Dr. Arman. She's got a big operation here, lots of experiments. Expensive experiments. So she used her paralysis ray on an armored car for some quick cash. Once the raygun is made mobile she's going on a crime spree. But not us! We were just supposed to be guarding the roof access door!"
Then, everyone - including Fred - heard a door slam open. It was not the door to this room, but the door before that, leading back into the main north-south hallway. Fred shut up.

Hourman moves back to the door they entered and looks down the hallway preparing for reinforcements. He comments, " if she is a mad scientist/inventor we need to be on our guard. Sandman you recognize the doctors name?"
He then thinks, " should we bring in the others or continue?"

"Who was that?" said the Cap sternly to the mooks. "I want answers now you knuckleheads!"

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (and Sandman) Monday May 22, 1940, 6:28 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street
Hour-Man asked: "Sandman, you recognize the doctor's name?"
"The name does seem familiar," the Sandman said, "but I need time to place her..."
Captain Hawkman said: ""Who was that? I want answers now, you knuckleheads!"
At the sound of the further doors opening, the hoodlum being interrogated looked a little less cowardly, gave a half-smile, and said: "Reinforcements."
The Sandman said, "We need to decide if we stay and fight or take the south door and keep moving."

"Quickly tie the prisoner's arms behind their backs," said the Captain. "Let's head south with all three of these mooks. It will confuse the enemy if we run into any more."

Hour man agrees and moves to tie them up and walk them willingly or not to the south door

The three prisoners had just been tied up with their own belts when the second fainted hoodlum came around and the first one awake yelled for "HELP!"
And then, before they could retreat through the south door, the east door burst open and four more hoodlums were visible on the other side. The lead two had guns.
"Put up your hands!" one of them shouted.
((Combat intentions?))

Hourman thinks about a song from the 50's called " mr sandman " and realizing this is before their time comments, " gentlemen we have beaten your friends. Why don't you lower the weapons and surrender now." Hourman then looks at Sandman , especially his gas gun, for a second and then says to the four men, " the four of you look like you had a long day and are probably tired and could use a nap"

The Captain grabbed the squealing knucklehead and threw him roughly at the two armed hoods. At least it would cause some confusion while Sandman attempted Hourman's plan...

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (and Sandman) Monday May 22, 1940, 6:30 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street
The hoodlums saw that something was up, that the Heroes seemed to be about to do something. Before even the Sandman could draw his gun, the hoodlums showed they had itchy trigger fingers and the two lead ones took shots.
BANG! BANG!
The hoodlum waving his gun at Sandman, his gun went off before he had taken aim and he missed by an inch.
Hour-Man moved sideways across the narrow room and dodged a bullet ((would have hit, but made his save)).
Now Captain Hawkman threw his prisoner, and he managed to bowl over both gunmen with him! ((Whew, were those good rolls!))
The Sandman had his gas gun in hand now and let loose a sleeping pellet into their midst. The two gunmen, the tied up hoodlum thrown at them, and one of the second rank hoodlums all inhaled the fumes and passed out almost at once. Only one remaining hoodlum, furthest back, a short-bearded, broader man carrying a knife, stood his ground. He dropped his knife and raised a handkerchief to his face to block the gas, but otherwise seemed paralyzed with fear.

HOurman then charges the man and clobbers him with a punch to knock him out

((I am not going to wait for CH's intentions, as this is a late intention happening at the end of the first combat turn.))
Hour-Man charged up and his fast right whiffed past the man's head by an inch, but Hour-Man succeeded with a left uppercut to the jaw that seriously hurt the hoodlum ((3 dmg; he got two attacks with fists because his opponent is unarmed.))
The cowardly hoodlum, missing a tooth now, hollered: "Don't hurt me anymore and I'll do anything!"

Hourman stops and then disarms the man and orders him to his knees and then proceeds to tie them up. He says, " now anymore of you here in the building. You need to answer our questions or this could happen". Hourman then picks up one of the hand gun and then after unloading the gun wrecks it.
( just playing bad cop here not going villain or punisher)

The Captain glances admirably at Hourman's handiwork on the gun.
"Come on, minion," barked the Cap. "Hurry up and speak. He can't hear you. Who else is in the building? And where are they?"

The tale of Carl Bradley (the hoodlum speaking):
"There's a lot of us here. Four floors, about 30 rooms a floor each. About half the rooms on the top two floors are occupied. Dr. Arman's hired a lot of men and has some secret plan to take over the city, but nobody knows details and, frankly, we spend all our time just stealing enough to afford to pay all these guys to stick around here. Dr. Arman has experiments on the first two floors. They say she's figured out how to raise the dead down there."
