Most of my players played ruthlessly, so I expect it now. I did think about having the whole hideout go up in flames, but the oil isn't going to spread that far and there are corridors too long without flammables in them (perhaps that was intentional design! Yeah, that's it...). I'll get around to finishing this scenario one of these days.

Gosh, I had to put this off for a whole month! I hope to get a second scenario started soon, though, and of course I'll need to finish updating all the Heroes...

Nope, now it's been two months since I did anything with this.
I finally finished updating the Hero records after session 1, then purchased a few minor trophy items for them, and an extra spell for Zatara.
We're going to assume those purchases happen during a month of downtime before session 2. But where to start a session 2?
I decided to roll random plot hooks/rumors for the Heroes, based on what was happening in the comic books cover dated April 1940, instead of their actual published stories, to reinforce that these are just coincidentally like, and not actually, the DC heroes they resemble. I got:
-Zatara learned about racketeers bombing a grocery store (The Defender story from Rocket Comics #2) -Sandman reads that a prominent diamond broker and a known gangster were both found shot dead in an apartment (The Masked Marvel story from Keen Detective Funnies #19) -Hawkman learns of a secret gambling den for the wealthy hidden behind a Chinese curio shop (The Black Owl story from Prize Comics #2) -Sandy Kean learns of the Joker's string of murders (The Batman lead story from Batman #1) -Doris West learns that spies plan to bomb the American Aircraft Works (The Green Mask story from Mysterymen Comics #9) -Bart Regan learns a foreign spy on the run is hiding out in the Guatemalan jungle (The Anchors Aweigh story from Adventure Comics #49)
Although having them go after the Joker is super-tempting, the biggest national-level threat here is the sabotage of the aircraft company. While the six of them investigate the aircraft company grounds, they find an abandoned hangar that leads down to the saboteurs' secret base...

Just saw your new write-up of the Hourman Android, neat! One question though-if he can only use his powers for One Hour per day, does that mean he gets to activate them all at the same time and use the duration of the longest one(within the 'Hour of Power' limit)? Or does he have a one hour 'window' where he can activate any of them (normal duration) and once that hour's up he loses access to even the unactivated ones? I could see either way working within the Ruleset... Also, i'm just assuming that his Time Travel devices are kaput and he's stranded in the Golden Age for awhile? If not, Time Travel Adventures can be awesome (as well as migraine-inducing... ).

Since we're not "burdened" in this experiment with exact emulation, this Hourman's limitation can be each power only lasting an hour, separate from each other. So, if he staggers them out, he can stay powered for a long time, but will be more like Ultra-Boy then, that he can only use one power at a time. And no time machine! Darren couldn't begin afford to buy that trophy item on the starting money I gave him.

So now you have a long-term goal for the Hourman Player if they want one-"Turn this crash-landed pile of rusted alloys back into a working Time Machine in an age of 'Stone Knives and Bear Skins' While avoiding Rex Tyler lest his Future be altered"...a perfect reason to amass piles of cash and create a Secret ID for the Era! Given the way you're interpreting Hourman's powerset, it should only be a limitation when using the 4-hour Standard Turns, only affect him at very high Levels during the 10-minute Exploration Turn, and make no difference at all in the 30-second Combat Turns. I can't wait to see how it works in Actual Play...

Shhh, you're giving him ideas...
Hourman, I thought you were using the magic hourglass instead of power pills. Instead you have both? Do we need to spell out in advance which powers are triggered by the hourglass and which by the pills?

we can use the hourglass .. ignore the pills, since pills really would not fully work with an android. Don't remember Data from star trek or vision from avengers eating
