Hour-Man wednesday May 17, 1940 Appleton WAC Radio Station
It was two days since the morning interview. Rex had been back to WNEW to check for messages, but the only calls he had received sounded like nutcases, raving about the end of the world.
Tonight was Hour-Man's interview with Russ Johns here at WAC AM and it had been a more dignified interview, without the theratics the morning interviewers had demanded on. Russ had asked good questions about vigilantism vs. civic duty and they agreed to hold another on-air discussion on weighty topics in the future. Russ had been impressed enough to even offer to discuss matters further with Hour-Man off-air, if he was interested.
It was night when Hour-Man emerged from the radio station, still in full costume. The radio crew had promised not to follow him out and see what car he drove off in afterwards, so Hour-Man was all alone.
Except for the wolf.
It was definitely not a dog, but a wolf; a gray, shaggy-coated wolf. It stared at Hour-Man from under a tree outside the parking lot.

Hour-man approaches the wolf slowly. He wonders how lost it is since the forest preserve is several miles from town. As he approaches it he says ( depending if he can tell if this is a boy or girl)" easy not going to hurt you. Are you lost, want me to help you"

Hour-Man Wednesday May 17, 1940, 7:50 pm Appleton WAC Radio Station
The wolf (it was too dimly lit to tell if it was a boy or a girl) did not let Hour-Man get within 20' of it, no matter how he tried to coax it or box it in. Indeed, the wolf seemed almost like a chess player in how it moved, ably avoiding being cornered and captured.
The wolf communicated nothing but interest in watching Hour-Man's every move.
After 10 minutes of this, Hour-Man was sure he would never catch the wolf without activating his hour of power and moving at super-speed. If he wanted to catch up to the wolf that badly.

The wolf seemed intelligent and more cunning then an ordinary one. Hour-man respecting the wolf's tactics backed up to his vehicle. He keeps an eye on it and does not turn his back on it. He then sees a left over half of sandwich he did not eat and maybe this creature is hungry. He get the sandwich from the passenger seat and then moves away from the vehicle and puts it on the ground.
He says, " I hope you enjoyed the show and enjoyed the little game we played. This is for you eat if you are hungry, the sub sandwich was good. " Hour-man thinks for human standards. Hourman then heads back to his vehicle.

Hour-Man Wednesday May 17, 1940, 8:10 pm Appleton On the way home from WAC Radio Station
The wolf ignored the half-sandwich. Hour-Man got into his car and drove away, thinking he had seen the last of the curious wolf.
He was halfway home when he glanced into his rearview mirror and caught a glimpse of the wolf, running behind him and keeping pace with the car while it was going 45 MPH.

Hourman pulled into the new warehouse and got into his trunk and pulled out a couple of things he purchased for the new HQ. He sees the wolf and smiles and then heads home. He will be curious to see if it still follows him.

Hour-Man Wednesday May 17, 1940, 8:40 pm Appleton Apartment of Rex Tyler
Hour-Man made it home safely from their medium-sized warehouse in the Dock District. Tomorrow he would try and secure that spot in the harbor for his towboat, as close to the warehouse as he could get.
He spotted the wolf twice more that night, and felt confident the wolf was outside his house when he went to sleep. With the doors and windows locked, of course...
Captain Desmo Thursday May 18, 1940, 7:40 am Appleton Apartment of Captain Desmo, Hobbes, and Gabby
Captain Desmo thought it was the telephone waking up him, no doubt a call from Colonel Akin for his first official spy mission - but it was Hobbes' alarm, as he had to get ready for work at the museum.
"Sorry, I woke you, Captain," Hobbes said with crisp British accent as he got up first.
Gabby could still be heard, snoring on the pull-out bed in the living room.
Although a work day for both Hobbes and Rex Tyler, Captain Desmo had plans to meet with Hour-Man at the warehouse to see what Rex had purchased to furnish it on Rex's lunch break, and take over negotiations with the harbormaster if Rex had to leave early to get back...

Desmo got up about 15 minutes later to chat with Hobbes. Hobbes usually cooked for him when he did, so Desmo could enjoy something hot. And it seems that Hobbes' nice scrambled eggs with bacon and toast along with that hot coffee went a long way to keeping the peace between Gabby and Hobbes - although the two still sometimes needlessly bickered over cleaning. At least the two kept busy - Gabby with his surprising movie role, and Hobbes preparing for his overseas expedition to the Congo.
Desmo thought back on his date with Doris back in Washington. It went fine, but Doris made it clear she didn't like him and Red fighting over her, but they had a nice time otherwise. Perhaps the last time like that. Hobbes told Desmo again this morning, "There are other fish in the see, mate."
After Hobbes left, he washed up the dishe,s and left some breakfast aside for Gabby. Desmo would finally get around to calling Jack once Gabby woke up, and find out how Jack's heart was doing...

Captain Desmo Thursday May 18, 1940, 7:40 am Appleton Apartment of Captain Desmo, Hobbes, and Gabby
((For scheduling, let's say Hobbes leaves for Africa on Monday, and the filming for Gabby's part in the movie starts on Tuesday.))
Marie Smith answered the phone and spoke in hushed tones. "Jack keeps a brave face, but I'm worried about him. Neither heart attack was strong, the doctors say, but having two of them has left him so weak. On the positive side, he has no music gigs coming up that he has to cancel...but on the negative side, he has no music gigs coming up soon to help with the doctors' bills..."

Hour-Man and Captain Desmo Thursday May 18, 1940, 12:01 pm Appleton Justice Society Headquarters
((I need to know, are you both in costume or plainclothes?))
The warehouse still looked very ...warehouse-y, but the furnishings Hour-Man had purchased might help ((both of you can elaborate here)).
Hour-Man was just about to bring up his strange encounter with a wolf last night when there was a knock on their front door (either coincidentally on that end of the building, or someone had been knocking patiently for a while).
Answering, the two men greeted a beautiful woman. She was tall, statuesque, blonde, and fair-skinned, wearing a red dress and matching hat and 3" heels. She had something in her hands, under a small towel, and it smelled delicious.
"Hello!" she said, with a Scandanavian lilt. "My name is Gertrude, Gertrude Svenson. I'm your neighbor, from the shop across the street! I knew you were moving in, so I decided to become a one-woman welcoming committee and baked you an apple pie." She uncovered it and it looked delicious. "May I come in?"

Rex Tyler smells the pie and comments, " good afternoon Geretrude thank you for the welcome. Please do come in and thank you for the pie it smells scrumptious. So my name is Rex and nice to meet you. What shop do you work/own at? what products do you sell"
Rex makes casual small talk but does not necessary touch the pie. He waits for the captains conversation too.
(OOC: thinking we go with business interior first look and our personal rooms in the offices?)

Not wanting to draw attention, Desmo will be in his suited look with sunglasses. He will save the aviator suit when up for battling bad guys (but he will still have his usual tools and gun on him.)
"A pleasure to meet you Gertrude," said Desmo pleasantly surprised. "I'm Desmo, and this is my partner Rex. Here do come in, and thank for that delicious pie. Would you like some coffee? Maybe some tea? We have a work table over there we can sit and talk at."
Desmo quickly clears plans from the table that he and Rex were beginning to go over.

Hour-Man and Captain Desmo Thursday May 18, 1940, 12:16 pm Appleton Justice Society Headquarters
"I'm the receptionist at Zahm Trailer Sales; you can see it from the front window," she said, nodding her head in that direction while she was still holding the pie with both hands. "And I would love some coffee."
They all moved into the warehouse and the pie was deposited into the newly-purchased fridge in the kitchen/break room.
"You said your name was Rex. Such a classic name! I will gladly call you Rex. Last names are so formal, yes?"
Gertrude largely ignored Captain Desmo after he handed her the coffee. As they sat at the table and chatted over coffee, she acted like she was entranced by Rex Tyler, addressing all her questions to him, such as what he would be selling here, and if she could get a tour of the facilities from him.
They were soon ((either during the tour or escorting her out)) walking past a window when everyone saw a large, shaggy, gray wolf staring in at them!
Gertrude gasped. "That wolf!"

Rex stops and wonders and calmly says, " it must have gotten lost. We get the occasional coyote or wild dog but a wolf is a little unusual. Desmo let me try something, I grew up around dogs, my parents had two let me see if some tactics will work. If it turns aggressive then we will call the police. " Rex knows this is the wolf from last night. Rex did tell the captain was going to bring this up until Gertude showed up. This slightly bothers Rex a bit as if there is a connection but this could be coinicental. Rex head outside and tries to slowly approach the wolf.
