"Well, Russ, I'm Captain Hawkman, though my good friends call me Captain Desmo," said Desmo lighting his pipe.
Desmo with his usual aplomb continued, "I'm stronger than an ordinary man, I'm a pilot, and as you saw me arrive from the air on wings with Hour-man, you know I myself can fly."
Looking Russ in the eye, while keeping close to the microphone he said, "Now what do we do? Well, I saw men going off to war, and I wanted to help stop the evil and madness in the world. So, I fought some of the worst criminals in India and Mongolia. But I chased a very bad man right back here - called Genghis Akhim. He is the thug behind the department store bombing. We are trying to flush him out and other criminals like him, and deliver them to the police before more trouble happens. Russ, what we do is save lives, and keep our streets safe for everyone."

HOurman straightens in his chair and says, " Hello radio fans, boys and girls, name is Hour-man, the hour of power. I became a superhero because of the injustice in this city and of course the current events in America. My enhanced abilities include super strength and enhanced speed." He then looks to Captain hawkman to execute the plan by letting the captain do most of the talking.

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman Friday, May 5, 1940 Appleton City WAC Studio
"Wow, that's quite the story, you two," Russell Johns said. "If I hadn't seen you flying myself, I wouldn't believe it. But tell us - this Genghis Akhim, can you elaborate on how dangerous he is? Should our listeners be concerned? And what can they do to protect themselves, or help bring this criminal to justice?"

"Folks in Radioland," said Desmo. "As a suphero that's seen a lot of evil-doers, I can tell you that Akhim is a thug with no moral compass, and will stop at nothing to get wealth and power. In New York, we fought villains to free someone he kidnapped. Hour-man and I and our friends also stopped would be armed robbers hired by none other than Akhim. And worst of all, he masterminded the recent department store bombing to threaten and intimidate innocent citizens from trying to stop him. Friends, if you are a shop owner or work in any kind of shop, make sure your money is safe and secure, and I advise everyone to not walk alone at night. If you need help or see something suspicious, call Hour-man and I through the operator at our hotline 0678 ((this is the museum's number for the office that Hobbes helped set up)). The police can help too, but not as quickly as we can."
Desmo let a moment pass and then said,"And Akhim, if your out there listening to this, be warned. I am going to hunt you down until you are locked away for good..."

"Well, that's some story, and you heard it here first, folks!" Russell Johns said. "Thank you, both, for coming on and speaking to me, and good luck in catching this heinous criminal."
((Let me know if there is more you want to get done during downtime. I am going to have little time for posting over the next four days and will not start session 7 until Thursday...))

As Hobbes was still recuperating, Desmo to his car to Appleton Airport and parked the car. Then, Desmo donned the wings and flew to the hangar area where they kept his old British trainer plane.
After some handshaking and reacquainting with grounds crew and mechanics and some congratulations on his radio interview and crime fighting, Desmo asked for some tough numbers.
"The fact of the matter is," said Desmo walking around the hangar. "I may be in Appleton for a while. What do I owe you for storing the plane? And what is the monthly upkeep?"
If the costs are affordable, Desmo will pay off the debt and arrange to pay a rental space to park the plane. But, if not, Desmo will ask about selling the plane...

Hourman will head home and catchup with Zatarra and see if he found anything. Maybe attend a show and talk to him backstage. He will also contact the agency and see if they know about Hawkgirl's retirement.

Hour-Man Friday, May 5, 1940 Appleton City Rex Tyler's Apartment
It took almost an hour of calling around on the phone to track down Zatara (he was not at his hotel or at the theater from last night, but the theater people contacted Zatara and had him call Rex back). "Ah, I do not have information, per se," Zatara said, "but perhaps a plan in the forming. I will meet you both tomorrow. Let's say 3 o'clock? At my hotel? I want to do what I can to help you, because I will be leaving the city Saturday morning."
It took about 15 minutes to get a call back from G-2 Agent Doris West. "I was aware of Hawkgirl passing on her wings, yes," Doris said. "I did not know Zatara was leaving you, no. Can the two of you manage on your own until Sunday? Bart Regan will be joining you Sunday afternoon."

Captain Hawkman Friday, May 5, 1940 Appleton City Laguardia Airport
The airport crew had respected Captain Desmo before, but when he confided in them that he had "magic" flying wings, he became their celebrity. Word spread fast and soon he had a mob of technicians swarming him, wanting answers about how the wings worked that he could not answer.
The one answer the technicians could give was how much Captain Desmo owed - $36 - and would owe an additional $4 per day for storing the plane there.

Captain Desmo thought quickly on his feet, and put on his wings.
"Boys, it's been swell seeing you all, and here's $40," he said. "Thanks for taking care of the plane. Now I'm gonna do you all a big favor. I'm going to lend the airplane to you to do with what you like."
Desmo deliberately began to rise off the ground.
"Use it carefully, and train more good pilots," called out Hawkman as he rose higher. "That'll more than cover the $4 dollars a day. See you again folks!"
With that, Desmo flew to Hobbes' car, took off the wings quickly and sped off - hopefully absolved of payments... for a while anyways...

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman Saturday, May 6, 1940 Appleton City Washington Square Hotel
Zatara met at the appointed time with Hour-Man and Captain Desmo ((who, I am assuming, either came incognito to the hotel or in some other low-key way)), inviting them up to his suite.
"Can I get either of you something to drink? Mind if I?" Zatara asked from behind his wetbar. He stood behind it like a lectern as he spoke about the plan he had only hinted at. "It isn't foolproof, of course, but my thought is that, if we want to track the Assassins down through their magical division, the Green Death, then we could try to bait them out into the open by offering them a fresh recruit. Practictioners of black magic are not easy to come by, after all.
"To pull this off, we would either need to find a practionary of black magic we could sway to our cause, or someone we could pass off as such a person. It could be one of us in disguise, or a new partner in this endeavor, someone the Green Death would not recognize. It would also not be quick, as infiltration could take days, or even weeks.
"Do you wish me to begin work on this project before I go? How much would you both want to be involved? Would you envision that as our main course of action, or a side project?"

((Captain Desmo got to the hotel in 'disguise' by wearing one of Hobbes' suits and his regular aviator hat and goggles...))
"As we don't have any other lead at the moment," said Hawkman. "It might good to throw your project all our attention, Zatara. And, many thanks for getting this going before you leave..."
"As both of us are already pretty public," considered Desmo. "Neither of us could be a good apprentice... Hobbes might be able to do it - when he is in ONE PIECE... unless someone new from the agency stepped in..."

Hourman comments, " I heard from agent west and she is sending Bart Regan to assist us. Not sure if that would work. Another option though is the Spectre. "
