Although Hour-Man is the "Man of the Hour," Rex Tyler had a 45-minute lunch break and would have to take the last of his food and run, or leave it behind. If he wanted in on the interviewing, it would have to wait until he was off work this evening, or arrange to take the next day off.

"Sounds like a plan Rex," said Desmo. "Well... Zatara, maybe Rex and I can look into this today before the game and let you know if we come up with an idea."
Desmo wished Zatara good luck on his magic show, and promised to be in touch tomorrow. Desmo asked Rex if he knew of a radio station close to the department store. They could start there....

Rex would give the name of the radio station if there is one. He tells Desmo to meet at the stadium for the game and hopefully during the rest of the day Desmo can meet with the station and arrange an interview or do one. He then eats and makes sure Zatarra has his office phone number and heads back to work

Hour-Man Thursday, May 4, 1940 Appleton City
Rex would have to work until 5, the ballgame started at 6:30, leaving Hour-Man less than an hour to participate in any radio interview Captain Hawkman managed to schedule. The plan was that the Captain would call Rex at work if he managed to schedule something Hour-Man could attend.
Because Rex had stayed to finish eating, he was running late getting back to work. He had, though, not used his hour of power yet today, and could get to work on time if he chose to run super-fast...

Captain Hawkman Thursday, May 4, 1940 Appleton City WAC Studio
WAC was the radio station closest to the department store where this whole adventure started. Captain Desmo showed up and asked to see a reporter. Russ Johns, one of those reporters, agreed to meet with him.
"So you're a pilot?" Russ gamely observed, seeing what Captain Desmo was wearing.
Russ Johns listened to CD's story and even jotted notes. "That's quite a tale..." he said in the end. "If you can back up any part of that with some evidence, I'd be happy to report it on air. Or, if you want to wait, I can ask the police about it tomorrow."

"Well good man," said Desmo standing up tall, placing his right hand over his heart, and looking the reporter directly in the eye. "As a fellow American, all I can do is swear by my true partriot blood that every word I said is true. I am Captain Desmo - fighter against injustice, defender of the innocent and free. If I wanted to sit around and spin tales, I'd write books. But I am here fighting against crooks and low down scum to help this city and its people, and keep these villains off the streets."
He pauses for effect, and then continued. "Sir, I can't give you more than my word... But if after everything I said, you need a day to fact check, then I'll do the interview with you tomorrow."

Hour-Man Thursday, May 4, 1940 Appleton City Bannerman Pharmaceuticals
Rex chose not to squander his "hour of power" and arrived late coming back from lunch. John Finch, his jealous rival at work, took notice. "Has the famous Rex Tyler been too busy hobnobbing with pilots to come back to work on time?" John sneered ((John is referring to the time Rex brought Captain Desmo to work with him; not that John has pieced together Rex's secret identity)).

Captain Hawkman Thursday, May 4, 1940 Appleton City WAC Studio
"I see...tomorrow it is," Russ Johns said, obviously still skeptical. "Can you come back around 2?"

"Then 2 it is Russ," said Desmo firmly shaking hands with Mr. Johns before leaving. "'Appreciate your time. You won't be disappointed."

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman Thursday, May 4, 1940 Yankees Stadium
But Yankees fans were disappointed, that night, when the Yankees were trounced by the Chicago White Sox, 3-10.
And yet, for the future android known as Rex Tyler, this was a welcome chance to visualize how the game was played and he would understand it over the radio so much better. And for Captain Desmo, who had been away from the States for so long, it was like one more way of coming back home. Would he ever be able to leave for the Far East again...?
((Feel free to talk in-character about the game; I'm going to pause here and get you to the radio interview tomorrow!))

"You see, sport," said Desmo. "I haven't felt this excitement in ages! A point of the game is that it's more than rules. You don't get all American energy of the fans anywhere else. Can you feel it? It's also a game of manners. Not once do the players hit or cuss. No, sir! Manners is one of the beauties of baseball."
"But don't worry!" said Desmo clapping Rex on the back. "I didn't put any money on this game! But the next one will be a sure bet.... Say, want to try one of those big hot dogs and a soda before we go? I think a Yankees cap might suit you too... Oh look there's a souvenir shop at the top of the stairs by the exit! Wanna look?"

Rex will take the excitement in. During the game he would have a hot dog and coke. HE comments, " I am going to get a hat before I leave. how did the interview go/'

"Ah, that," said Desmo. "Well, that will happen tomorrow at 2 pm. For some reason the reported wanted to ask the cops a few questions first..."

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman Friday, May 5, 1940 Appleton City WAC Studio
Russell Johns was confused when the call came from his interview subject to meet him on the roof. He was waiting up there until he ran out of cigarette and was about to think the whole thing was a prank when he saw them.
Captain Hawkman, descending towards the roof, while holding Hour-Man by the hand!
"You- You're who I'm interviewing?" Russell managed to exclaim. "If you'd pulled this stunt yesterday, I would have put you on the air right away! Come on, let's get inside and into the studio..."
"Good afternoon, it's 2 o'clock and this is Russell Johns with a special interview. In the studio with me right now are Appleton City's resident superheroes, Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman. Both men are masked and will not be revealing their true identities to me. But, if you would, please each say a few words about what you can do and why you decided to become a superhero."
