The two closest ones are a threat to the driver, the passenger and nearby civilians, so Hourman will go after the closest robber. he will use his fists and not the sword, although brass knuckles might be a future investment

Captain Desmo and Hour-Man (and Hawkgirl and Zatara) Wednesday, May 3, 1940 Appleton City Midtown Shaw Street 1:40 pm (turns 4-5)
Beyond the north end of the combat, Zatara ran onto the scene, beside the shop across the street Hour-Man had set an alarm off inside, and he stopped there to begin casting a spell.
Beyond the south end of the combat, a now-armed Hawkgirl ran into the thick of things, attacking the robber who had downed Hobbs.
In the thick of things, Captain Desmo whipped out his pistol, shot the robber with the Tommy gun in the gut - and the robber went down!
Hour-Man charged into melee with the two robbers with revolvers and got pistol-whipped by one, but it was a glancing blow ((3 dmg, canceling out the Get Tough bonus)), but this left Hour-Man on the defensive and unable to get a punch in -
before Zatara's spell went off. Zatara had chosen, seemingly at random ((ahem)), to cast a Sleep spell centered on the robber with a revolver on Hour-Man's right. Both of the robbers went down - as did the robber trying to force open the back door of the armored car still -- but so did Captain Desmo and Hour-Man!
Meanwhile, Hawkgirl's battle with the only remaining robber was just out of spell range. She slashed the man with her machete, seriously injuring him. He surrendered immediately thereafter.
And then Zatara woke up Captain Desmo and Hour-Man, just as two beat cops arrived, and siren wails could be heard approaching. ((I don't think we even need a map update anymore!))

Hourman wakes up a little surprised that his actions were so tiresome and then looks at the sleeping robbers and then at Zatarra. He smiles, " nicely done Zatarra. Let's find out who these people are and tie them up."

"Good man," said Desmo nodding to Zatarra.
Desmo made sure Hobbs and the civilians were okay, and took off the wings to help Hourman tie up the thugs. He also let the police know they needed a few facts to route out the bad guy's boss. He then set about interrogating them with a bit of intimidation with some of his pepper powder in their eyes if they weren't "forthcoming" enough....

Hourman will inform the police of the situation and will be the "good cop" in this conversation

There was a tense moment at first, when some of the officers recognized Desmo and Hourman from the scuffle at the police station over getting some evidence checked... But, the ever charismatic Zantara was able to smooth things over with a flattering account of our heroics, and "...where would these security guards be now if it weren't for the athletics of Hawkgirl, the powerful punch of Hourman, the aerial attack of Desmo, and the street fighting bravado of his sidekick..." The officers' mood at once became congenial, making his friends speculate that Zatara definitely had some magic at play. Desmo and Hourman set about a brief interrogation before the officers loaded up the thugs in the paddy wagon, while the others checked the security guards and Hobbes for scrapes and bruises.
((dtspurrier, hope you don't mind my attempt to try to carry on the narrative a little.))

(nope TIM_Fox) this is very comic book feel and the narrative is quite good. Add in the aerial attack of Captain Desmo to the summary. Hopefully our editor will agree

Captain Desmo and Hour-Man (and Hawkgirl and Zatara) Wednesday, May 3, 1940 Appleton City Midtown Shaw Street 2:51 pm
It had not taken long to get confessions out of the robbers - they were in the employ of Cliff Hawkins, the butler of Vito Denola, president of De Nola Textiles. Hawkins, out to make a quick buck for himself, found out the schedule and route for when an armored car would be taking money from Denola's factory to the bank and hired these men to rob it. But Hawkins did not have the privacy to call the robbers or contact them more obviously, so he wrote the time and location for the job in invisible ink on a shirt and had a laundry service deliver it to them.
When the police arrived, they soon poked holes in this story right where the four Heroes suspected they were. How did a butler, without any ties to organized crime, recruit a team of stick-up men? And more importantly, how had the shirt wound up outside George Bentley's residence?
After some pepper in the face, one of them cracked - they had actually been hired by Bentley, to work for Hawkins. Bentley had insisted the shirt be sent on to him after they'd seen it.
The police seemed uncertain what to do about the four vigilantes, but were more favorably inclined than not, seeing how a major crime had been averted and no one had gotten killed. They got a scolding about "leaving the police to enforce the laws," and it was left at that.
Paramedics at the scene wanted to load the still-unconscious Hobbs into an ambulance.
"I daresay this Vito fellow probably would like to give us a reward..." Zatara offered.
"I have a reward in mind too," Hawkgirl said to the others. "I really only got into this to avenge Carter's death, and my heart just isn't in playing Hawkgirl. The wings fit you very well, Captain Desmo. How would you like to be the new Hawkman...?"

Desmo was momentarily stunned by Hawkgirl's words and he hesitated - knowing what all it implied. The wings were an exquisite artifact that were exhilarating to fly. No doubt any flying man would be envious. "...Are you sure...Shiera?" said Desmo, but he already knew the answer.
A certain sadness formed in his eyes. The journey of the hero was a hard life, and heroes that step down are usually very firm about their decision. And once they go, they often separate themselves from the life of duty, and it often means final goodbye.
Desmo was beginning to grow fond of Shiera in the short time they worked together, although Shiera was likely most fond of the real gentlemen, Zatara.
Desmo nodded soberly and looked Hawkgirl directly in the eye, "It would be my honor to be Hawkman, and use these wings to take down the low downs and thugs of the world... I will borrow them Shiera, and if you ever change your mind... just ask."
Desmo fished in his pocket for something shiny.
"Here is for your good luck and warm heart," Desmo pressed his fancy coin from India into her palm gently, and closed the fingers of her hand around it.
He finally said, "It has been a privilege and pleasure working with you even if for just a short time."

(OOC adding new popularity and karma pool for Desmo new identity, Marvel superhero RPG joke) Hour-man says, " sheira you are a good friend and a capable ally and will be missed. If you change your mind and what to go back into hero business let us know. If you get into a jam or need us let us know. So lets go meet a butler and then back to the new Hawkman's case of stopping that warlord."

After saying goodbye to Shiera, making sure Hobbes is in good care with the paramedics, and the cops have loaded the thugs in the paddy wagon, Captain Hawkman turns with the heavy metal wings under one arm to the remaining heroes, "Good idea Hourman. How would you fellows feel about paying the butler at little visit at Vino Denola's home? Or, at least scouting out the place first to size up the odds? I can take Hobbe's car and meet you there."

Shiera is taking a taxi from the scene. Zatara is good with coming, but doesn't have his own transportation.
((What say you, Hour-Man? Are the three of you traveling in one or two cars? Straight to the butler, or scout out the house first?))

"Well Zatara good man, why don't you come with me. I need a hand with these putting these wings in the trunk. How about we scout the place before moving in? I could put these wings to good use," said Desmo.
