Desmo throws hot coffee in O'Connor's face, and if he has the chance opens his pepper pot in his jacket and throws it in the faces of Bannon and Featherstone and then runs for the exit. ((Not sure how this will all work with Hour-Man's plans... but clearly if the two get out of this mess, they are clearly done here... and now have an enemy on the right side - kind Spider Man's J Jona Jameson to deal with from time to time...)

Captain Desmo and Hour-Man
Tuesday, May 2, 1940 Appleton City Midtown South Precinct Station
Captain Desmo caught Sgt. O'Connor completely by surprise, scooping up his coffee mug and tossing the contents in his face (luckily it wasn't scalding hot, but still stunning).
Captain Desmo and Hour-Man turned to leave, only to find patrolmen Bannon and Featherston were moving to intercept before our Heroes reached the exit.
Captain Desmo produced his pepper pot and tossed some in Bannon's face just as Bannon tried to grab him. Bannon managed to knock the pepper pot out of his hand (it clattered to the floor, spilling pepper all over), but couldn't grab hold of Captain Desmo.
Hour-Man, for his part, tried to bull-rush past Featherston, but the flat foot held his ground and, finding Hour-Man was not buffed with his "hour of power," was easy to get in a hold, pinning both arms behind his back. "Easy there!" Featherston said. "I've got a pen for this wild stallion to spend the night and sleep off whatever's got into him!"

Hourman says, " look we are trying to help you capturing these bombers. The data provided proved this was a bomb used by enemy agents, your lab can confirm the contents. The fingerprint was pulled from the bomb itself. Today me and Captain Desmo rescued the civilians at the store and helped the firemen. Call the fire chief on site as well as the store owner he can confirm who we are. There is a woman's life at stake and also there is a bomber on the loose. My name is Hour-man and I have worked with the Justice Society and have helped this city. Captain Desmo here is a loyal patriot and a hero . We will come willing but I cannot remove my hood."

Desmo will see the reaction of the police to what Hour-Man says, unless the action in the scuffle already forced him out of the door of the police station. Desmo does have a gun, but does not think it is appropriate to use against good guys who are simply mixed up and will rely on his two dukes and a pair of handcuffs he has and will if necessary try to handcuffs one of the officers to a desk...

Captain Desmo and Hour-Man
Tuesday, May 2, 1940 Appleton City Midtown South Precinct Station [Turn 2 of combat]
"Have you ever heard of a Justice Society, Featherston?" Bannon asked.
"Sounds corny to me," Featherston replied. "You can tell me more while I'm moving you to a room with a nice comfy chair..." Featherston said, leading Hour-Man back through the lobby with one arm still held behind Hour-Man's back.
Bannon, meanwhile, came after Captain Desmo again, but Captain Desmo had no time for this nonsense! They struggled, CD tried to catch handcuffs onto Bannon, but was knocked off-balance and slammed to the floor instead. "Mind if I borrow those handcuffs?" Bannon asked. "They'll look nicer on you!"
((Random dice rolls... *sigh*))

((Scott, I better buy you a new set of dice for Xmas! )) "You'll probably end up getting me in the end," says Desmo. "But, let me give you a fight you'll remember." Captain Desmo (if not incapacitated or cuffed) pulls the knife hidden in his right boot and throws it to knock the cuffs out of Bannon's hands. ((As this is a called shot, and maybe a difficult one, would the odds be better if Desmo does a save vs. plot? Could I request a save vs. plot to have Desmo try to really send those cuffs flying across the room?))

Hourman says, " if that is the case then can I call the fire department chief who we assisting in rescuing the customers in the department bombing this morning."

Captain Desmo and Hour-Man
Tuesday, May 2, 1940 Appleton City Midtown South Precinct Station [Turns 3-4 of combat]
While Hour-Man still continued trying to talk his way out of this, Captain Desmo went to work trying to win their freedom.
Captain Desmo managed to roll over on his back, whip his knife out of his boot, and hurled it at the handcuffs, but missed knocking them out of Bannon's hand by three inches.
Bannon went back to trying to get the handcuffs onto Captain Desmo, but Captain Desmo struggled mightily and managed to slap the cuffs onto Officer Bannon himself! (though in front of him, not behind him)
Now Captain Desmo rose to his feet, only to find Sergeant O'Connor had come around his desk and was now threatening Captain Desmo with his truncheon. Captain Desmo, still not wanting to resort to his pistol, tried to disarm Sergeant O'Connor, but took a glancing blow to the head instead for his troubles ((2 damage)). Then Bannon dove for Captain Desmo's legs from behind, knocking CD back to the floor.
Meanwhile, Featherston was answering Hour-Man, "You're entitled to a phone call only if we charge you with something." He dragged Hour-Man out of the room and, before going into the interrogation room with him, called out to a fourth cop on the scene. "Clancy, come help me with this guy!"
Clancy came over and jerked the hood off of Hour-Man's head. "I don't be recognizin' him from any mugshots..." he said, upon examining Rex Tyler's exposed face.

Feeling very worried and upset about Auntie Marie, Captain Desmo pulled out his gun and fired at the ceiling. He stood up if possible during the confusion.
"Now everybody stop it! This has gone far enough fellows!" yells Desmo trying to keep his eyes on everyone. "Come on people! Don't you have any decency! Lives are in danger and the clock is ticking. If you don't want our help, then let us go, so we can catch these assassin bombers for you."
((If the scene continues to sour - i.e. they keep going at Desmo, he'll drop the gun and surrender.))

Captain Desmo and Hour-Man
Tuesday, May 2, 1940 Appleton City Midtown South Precinct Station [Turns 5-6 of combat]
Hour-Man tussled with Clancy and Bannon, but they outnumbered him two to one and, because he was still conserving his hour of power for later, he was overwhelmed and handcuffed behind his back for resisting.
But then Captain Desmo had shot into the ceiling and commanded the attention of everyone in the lobby. Having the drop on the cops, none of whom had produced guns yet, he was able to force them to bring Hour-Man to him.
Five policemen stood there, with their hands up, only slowly following Captain Desmo and Hour-Man to the front entrance.
"If you two step out of this station now," Sgt. O'Connor said, "you'll be wanted men. There'll be nowhere safe for you to go..."

(OOC if this was the same day then my hour of power was used up at the store right?)
Hourman tells the cop to uncuff him and still leaves the evidence. Hourman then puts back on his hood . He then says, "gentlemen this situation got out of hand quickly and unnecessary. The bombing this morning has effected this district mentally and physically. We are heroes or vigilantes and are trying to stop the bomber/enemy agents. I left the fingerprint of the bomber and the science evidence you need. Captain lets leave and sergeant please contact the fire chief on duty and the store owner that we assisted in helping the innocent. We are on the same side here and we were only are trying to help."

Being more concerned about the fate of Auntie Marie and Appleton and that something could happen to her or anyone at any moment, he didn't check with Hour-Man before giving his parting shot and heading out the door. "Sarge," said Desmo. "We're going to stop those scoundrels with or without your help!"

Captain Desmo and Hour-Man
They got away! Hour-Man was sure the police were not following them. Pretty sure. He had driven longer than he needed to, taking lots of random turns, to shake any pursuit.
Tuesday, May 2, 1940 Appleton City Midtown Townhome of Jack Smith 1:30 PM
Jack was relieved to see Captain Desmo and did not mind the intrusion of the mysterious hooded man in black and yellow. At Captain Desmo's request, Jack locked the front door behind them, for extra security.
"I don't know what to do, Captain Desmo," Jack said. He needed to sit down because he was still shaking so bad. "I'm so worried for my Marie. Those monsters still haven't called back with any demands, since calling earlier to say they had her."

"We're going to do everything we can to help, Jack," said Desmo handing him a cold glass of water. "We have a couple of leads even without the police to help. Hour-Man are there any calls we could make while we're here? Jack, I might try Hobbes again over at the museum if Dr. Grussbaker will give him a free moment..."
