This Black Anne seems pretty smart to me. Pity she wasn't this smart late last year, when she insisted that I accommodate Light City characters into Hoodlums & Hideouts, and causing the generation of pages upon pages of House Rules to make it happen...
Oh well, i'll get over it. Most of the changes were to the Light City end of things anyway. The only real changes to H&H were to:
-give the PC's some 2nd Edition 'Oomph' in a 1st Edition format (the return of 'true' attributes and a flat rather than scaling AC boost for Mysterymen) -Karma Points so that LC characters would be striving for Good Deeds and SCM activations...H&H PCs can just trade it in for the XP -Genre changes(Background/Skills/Languages, extras for Fighters to make up for lack of Armor in the setting etc)
So I could just ditch the LC PCs and the Karma rules and end up with a lightly-altered 1st Edition game...except that Per Negaton just e-mailed me his idea for a 'Speedster" last night. Nope, neither your Superhero nor my 'Speedster' alternate Class...he re-skinned the Light City Elemental. His reasoning:
Lvl 1 'speed aura' AC 7/12 Lvl 1 Flight at 24", with 'Lvl or less on 1D6' chance to properly take off or land(Rules As Written). His solution? Never take off, just 'run' up and down buildings, across still water etc Lvl 1 'Trick of the Trade', which he can fill with Haste or Blur(or if I allow the H&H List, Outrace Train) for that "burst of speed" Lvl 1 'Super-fast punches'(Energy Punch 1D6 damage)
...and Dang,he's got Flash/Johnny Quick powers right off of Issue#1 without a single Brevet Rank! I'm...i'm so proud of him...'sniff'...

I need more Armless Tiger Man in my life: marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Eric_Hertz_(Earth-616) Yes, it might possibly be Politically Incorrect-but then again, why can't a disabled man be just as much the Hero of His Own story as Charles Xavier (paraplegic)or Henry Mccoy(inhuman-looking)? Or Magneto (war-orphan minority), or Toad(deformity)for that matter? And since Marvel isn't playing with him anymore-I scooped him up, made a few minor tweaks and set him loose on Lighthouse Bay. I mean-dragged down to villainy by circumstances? Overcoming all odds yet still trapped by your own hatreds? He's a better Gothic villain than half of Dickens' crew! Go get 'em Tyger! Tear 'em up!
Urrgh...just finished reading my own Tyger entry in the SCM section-when did I start writing novellas? Sheesh...

Just in case the PCs need some inspiration from nowhere...a (nearly) invisible man. Also, coincidentally, plenty of opportunity for Good Deed awards, as the poor creature is not quite literally a Stray Dog in need...

Wow-spontaneously vomited up a nascent Campaign-within-a-campaign adventure! My misspent childhood rises up to confront me...
Typing fingers tired now. I might get more details on the Algonquin village later-it's trapped between Historical Impetus, a possible Nuke nearby and Dead Kids nosing around-they could use some Heroes i'll bet...

Oh my GRODD it finally happened! The Moon turned to blood, two-headed cattle were born to horses, rivers flowed uphill and and and- WE. HAD. A. GAME.
It was awesome and amazing and I feel like I have inhaled an entire pot of coffee and it had been so long that I was afraid I couldn't DO it anymore but the Players jumped in and did half the work and it was like climbing out of an iron box and into a festival everything was awesome and I am rambling...
I'll type up my notes and create a detailed entry later-but OH the first face-to-face and everybody was into it and focused and no more e-mails or Skype calls no a REAL TABLE and dice and snacks and Oh I am rambling again I don't care-
(Deep Breathing)
I'll check in when I am calmer and able to give a decent account. Later.
RAIN! IT IS RAINING ON ARRAKIS HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

>True Grit-Miss Reade adds her WIS score to her CON. To what end?
Well, when I adapted my Modified Rules (mostly so the same mechanic works for H&H and LC characters) I brought back True Strength and then adapted it to the possibility of other attributes-mostly so Superheroes could differentiate a bit. The +1(human limit) adds to physical Saves (the Level Limit in this game will be 6 so I don't think that it will overbalance much) The +3(superhuman) adds directly to Hit Points( She's going to be a tank!) and the total of 25 counts towards Exhaustion Limits(25 continuous turns of exertion-tireless!). Will the Dust Witch overwhelm the other Classes as a result? We shall find out in Playtest and modify accordingly...Keep in mind that the other H&H Classes in the Homebrew get a few Perks as well.
Here's what i'm using, ported over from the Rules and Settings list. The Human numbers apply to all Classes plus any Classed benefits-a Fighter with 15+INT gets that Extra Skill or Language, a M-U gets that and the 'Floating Spell' as well. The Superhuman numbers apply to a limited circumstance and can also cross Classes-a Superhero with 22 True Strength gets the same +1 "to hit" as the 15 STR Fighter, and a +2 to damage-if that Fighter gets some temporary enchantment that increases their STR to 22, they get the same benefits, and both examples can casually bench over a half-ton in weight. The Superhero still out-Wrecks the Fighter no matter how mighty they both are. Likewise an 'Agility-type' or 'Speedy-type' Superhero with True Reflexes(Add WIS to DEX) of 25 would have only a mere +1 to Missle attacks but a +/-3 to AC, as would another Class temporarily boosted.
A temporary INT boost might be trickier -i'd probably just give out a temporary Spot Hidden boost whereas the permanent version would allow permanent Language or Skill additions.
If one of my Writers decides to make a Superhero with True Insight (add WIS to WIS) i'm just going to just point my finger and laugh at them-but I might allow it as they would only get a +1 to Wreck and a +1 to +5 to Save vs Plot...hey waitaminnute, is that why Deadpool, Ambush Bug and Irving Forbush always get to Wreck 4th Walls? Unified Ability Scores Chart
Ability Modifier Lift 3-7 -1 150 lbs STR- includes HTH modifiers (and damage).
8-14 0 300 lbs DEX- includes Missle Modifiers (and AC bonus)
15-19 +1 800 lbs CON-includes (Saves vs all except Plot, Hit Point Modifiers)
20-24 +1(+2) 1600 lbs INT-includes Bonus Spells available (Extra Language or Hobby)
25-29 +1(+3) 3200 lbs WIS- Wrecking (Save vs Plot)
30-34 +1 (+4) 6400 lbs CHA- Maximum SCMs, Loyalty of SCMs (temporary Reaction Chart bonus)
35-39 +1 (+5) 12800 lbs
Lift-the Amount a Superhero may lift without a using a Power(H&H) or STR Feat(LC)
I ended using the Light City indicators (20-24, 25-30 etc) to H&H, then broke the Modifiers into two categories so that the raw Attributes wouldn't overwhelm the system and make actual Powers less useful...I hope. Playtesting is in progress, YAY!

You know, sometimes I forget just how lucky I am to have a happily-married couple who enjoy Role-playing and Story. When they get together with Yours Truly and start to Heterodyne, things can get a bit... intense. This last session I felt like a man on roller skates being dragged by a Greyhound bus...and with Dayspring taking over an SCM or two those two are nearly dancing with each other! I'm not ashamed to say that they actually made me cry a little last session...
Per Negaton's a awesome Player too-maybe it's just as well-if all four of us start vibeing together at once, there might be a Blackout and we all wake up in a strange land...
And when oh when oh Smurfing WHEN did I become a budding novelist? I know I wanted details but this Report looks like Victor Hugo wrote it! Time to find an Editor...

Per Negaton will likely never synch up with the rest of the group schedule-wise..but as long as he can synch up with one or more of his Editors we will still get our Game on! Don't have time to post his PC or the Notes tonight, but i'll not leave y'all hanging long...

Well, part of the reason i'm writing this entire 'JSA Roll Call' format-and an actual Series Bible when I much prefer to wing it 'Hex-crawl and random Encounter' style-is so we can have multiple Editors! If Per Negaton happens to randomly synch with Black Anne and Dayspring then at least two of them get to play while i'm unavailable. Also-I really really really really really really really want to play too!
Right now only Black Anne and I are actually committed to Editorial duties-but nearly everyone has contributed elements to Lighthouse Bay. Dayspring grabs SCMs in a heartbeat and plays them to the hilt (his first RPG was Ars Magica and 'troupe'-styled play) and he'd be a natural if he wanted to. Per Negaton has only ever been a PC but he can just about glance at a system and play it cold-I think he could do just fine as an Editor.
Now if I were a Wishing man i'd Wish that all four of us had regular, vitally-important high-paying Weekday jobs, and our Saturday evenings free to game- but man, I have seen what that Monkey's Paw can do to people, and i'm keeping it just where I left it, inside the melted Church Bell, wrapped in razor-wire and slightly out-of-phase with the rest of my Satellite's Vault...

I'm so confused. Was this all discussion before the session even started? Or was this a session 0 that served as a prelude?
