Big Alice in Wonderland fan here. And I like how whalebone corsets count as armor!
It's your section, so do what feels right, but...if you want to start expanding the fiction pieces, maybe they should have their own thread?

Yeah, that last one grabbed me by the lapels and ran its own merry way dragging me down the road didn't it?
As far as corsets go-while the modern ones use multiple layers of breathable fabric and pleats to support, the original layered silk and whalebone ones (and the later versions with steel strips replacing the bone) were historically capable of turning blades like an early Stab Vest. Also, since there was very little actual armor floating around the late 19th century (mostly Experimental Civil War gear that was never deployed), I'm allowing very heavy and durable coats, corsets and heavy boiler suits (layers of heavy canvas or sometimes oiled leather) a +1/-1 AC bonus-it's also the reason I'm allowing Fighters to get double the Soft Cover/Shield bonus in my altered Rules Document.

Well, first I slander Lewis Carroll, now I utterly twist the works of J.M. Barrie into a reeking pretzel... I...may have a problem.

Well, I suppose I could use the Head Blow rules for groin shots and count armored codpieces as Helmets?

When I was 11 years old I was 1st exposed to Karel Capek's brilliant play R.U.R.-and it changed my reading habits forever:
So , here's Rossum's Universal Robots by way of White Zombie and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, because Chocolate and Peanut Butter combos can't be beat...

If my group ever, ever gets to play, the Gabriel Hounds will need a devious hidden mastermind to plot against. So...introducing Richard Galte, a Diabolist with a twisted sense of lese-majeste. If you are in his employ you are property-if not you are either an adversary or a resource. And The Glutton, because every campaign needs a dim-witted rampaging Brute to play with:

Glutton is Matter-Eater Lad! Actually, I just tweaked a Rust Monster to H&H format...then put a Solomon Grundy filter on it.
I remember feeling sorry for some mid-level PCs in a Gothic scenario and decided to re-skin the "Vampire" as a less formidable creature-but I forgot to take into account Player expectations as the "Vampire" (a Ghast) tore through a wolfsbane-laced net, ignored the garlic-juice grenades, knocked the crucifixes aside and struck the Cleric "dead" (paralyzed) with a single slap-you never saw a bunch of Level 4-5 PCs run so fast! And here I thought I was being merciful taking Level Drain out of the picture...oops.

Ahh, a micro-environment/Adventure for future PCs. I'm sure that violence will be completely off the table and that all of the Dramatis Personae will get along swimmingly... (Ominous Thunder)....or, maybe not.

Well, my Muse put me in a submission hold and then punted me through a plate-glass window so this one got rather long. Introducing my Vampire substitute for the campaign, slightly more accurate to European Folklore-also a resource of the Hounds, a former Civil War spy-and a miracle from Andersonville... (Don't do what I did and search Wikipedia 'Civil war Prison Camps' for a suitable place name-there is a photograph there that will haunt you, and, er...inspired me in a way I was not comfortable with.) Editor's note-readers may have noticed that many of my Mobsters are a bit lower-powered than some in H&H 2nd ed. and that some potential SCMs are slightly more potent. This due to 1) A Lvl 7 cutoff to match Light City and 2) expectations that I will never get a full set of Players at one time due to Schedule conflicts...

Well, I put Wampyr into Lighthouse Bay, guess I had to introduce their King-a relatively Honorable Mobster in the spirit of Doctor Doom or the Submariner- Also, my hands seem to be recently possessed by evil spirits and will not stop typing words words words WORDS...I must curb this tendency, proceeding down this dark path is how Fanfiction Writers are made AAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
What next, The Wolfman and The Invisible Man so I can try for a 19th century Abbott & Costello film? I can only hope that my future Players will stop me with Reasonable Force if I should so give in to these Dark Impulses...

Well, my Crew hasn't forgotten our 'Once and Future' game, and e-mailed me a little Inspiration- 1 free Karma Point for all involved, assuming we ever get this puppy started... I also e-mailed any of the Crew interested in the 'Rotating Editor' gig my Mobster/SCM stuff-all that extra prose I added should help maintain continuity any time we 'switch off'...

Well, I have my little Keep on the Borderlands for Lighthouse Bay-The House of Rahab, easily identified by the scarlet cord wrapped around the balustrade. A local center for culture, celebrations and business lunches-and possibly a Spy Ring in the making. Here's hoping that-if my Players ever get back to gaming-they will treat the location as Rick's Place in Casablanca and not the 'effing Caves of Chaos... Note to self-I need to start doing this stuff in Libreoffice and then a quick Paste-in...seeing as how I lost all of my Notes last night and half of them today. Bloody Thunderstorms, don't they know i'm busy?

Tonight-The Metal Colossus a possible City-destroyer for Our Heroes to play with when they have the Levels for it...or failing that, to treat the Encounter as a Natural Disaster (and earn Good deeds evacuating civilians and fighting fires etc).
The very existance of the Colossus may well start an Arms race between the DeRo, Carl Russev, a possible Heel-face turn by SCM Verona Lake, and of course the US and European Governments...
