I remember Jess Nevins from back in the days when he was "just" a fanfiction writer! Indeed, Jess Nevins' sites were some of the first resources I went to when I started researching for H&H -- but I quickly decided that if I was going to do this, I was going to have to work from reading the primary sources, like Jess, did, and not just regurgitate other people's research. Same with Wikipedia (though I eventually did cheat a bit on the mini-entries for Supplement IV).

Not specifically comic related, but I've found The Dirty 30's to be a good resource for adding flavor to any game I run set in the pre war years.

Very well-researched article, definitely liked it. But let's face it, it's a rare subset of fans who still remember Thomas Carnaki the Ghost Finder, with his 'rational occultism' approach to things and his Electric Pentacle...I was just lucky that my local grade school Librarian was a William Hope Hodgson fan and unafraid to give a copy of The Whistling Room (from an Ellery Queen Magazine reprint) to an impressionable 10-year-old. To be perfectly honest, i'm surprised that no one has tried to revive the Ghost Finder, he's public Domain after all: www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/10832
