Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (+ Spectre) Friday May 26, 1940, 1:37 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street
Dr. Arman revealed that she had 20 more men who worked for her in the building, outnumbering the police officers present.
"We're not too worried," one of the officers on the scene said. "They're not going anywhere, and long before they run out of food the FBI will be here to bolster our numbers. Now, where is Wesley Dodge?"
Dr. Arman looked confused. "The millionaire? He has no involvement here."
"Don't play dumb, we know you're holding him hostage."
Someone had to tell the police that Dodge was dead...
((Are the Heroes going back in to search for Dr. Arman's notes?))

Cautiously in front of the others, Desmo said, "Hour-Man, we need to help you get Dr. Arman's notes and we need to help the police with the rest of the men in the building..."

((You can go back to page 20 in this thread to see as much of the fourth floor as you've explored so far. Can you describe where on the map you plan to look next...?))

Before the police arrived Hourman asks, " where are your journals concerning your research as a scientist myself I will be looking a for a possible cure to the undead draining. Also I don't want these to fall into the wrong hands."
Once she is led out, Hourman says to the officer in charge, " wesley Dodds was killed by the same creatures that attacked the army base earlier. Wesley was about town when some of them got free from the building and starting to attack any one they can find. In a moment of heroism he tries to save a couple from being attacked. The couple escaped and me and the captain here found the body. We informed his family who wanted to stay out of the press of the event and took the body with them. Come let's finish this case."

((Hmm, so you're asking for a retcon and going back and inserting that line of questioning to Dr. Arman before your last post on the roof? Hmm...okay, here's what I'll say happened...))
After they reached the roof, but while the autogyro was still landing, Hour-Man had broached his question about the notes' location. Dr. Arman delayed in answering, until she saw the police officers getting off the autogyro, and then either changed her mind or finally saw the writing on the wall.
"My lab is on the third floor," she explained. "You would need to take me with to find it quickly."

hourman sees the captain and says then to the police officers, " escort her brother and his allies to safety and to a shelter. We need to find her notes Doctor come with us and if this goes smoothly we can testify that you cooperated with the police. Unless there is an objection."

"Yes, there's an objection," the officer closest to Hour-Man said. "She's our prisoner now; we're not releasing her into your custody, whoever you are. And furthermore...we probably shouldn't be letting you go back inside and tamper with evidence!"

The Cap walked up to the Officer and looked at him squarely in the eyes, and said, "Son, you wouldn't even be here today without our intel. And, the doc would have slipped right through your hands on the very plane I stole from the enemy. So, don't you dare question my colleague or myself."
Then turning to all assembled, he said, "You heard Hour-Man. Get the brother and his allies to safety. Let's go Doc. Your notes could help a lot of people."

Hourman also says, " if your team want to come with us to make sure the prisoner cooperates I am fine with this. Plus we can then get her men to surrender. This will lead to less bloodshed. Now doc lead the way." Hourman knows the spectre is with them and is the " ace in the hole" in case the doc tries anything funny

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (+ Spectre) Friday May 26, 1940, 1:38 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street
The two officers clearly did not like being talked to by Captain Hawkman like that, but realized they were in a quandry - they had accepted a ride from Captain Hawkman up to the roof and were expecting him to get them back down! They were mollified by Hour-Man's suggestion that they all go down through the building together.
The ten prisoners - the six hoodlums + the one named Jay, the ex-pilot of the autogyro, and Dr. Arman and her brother Walter, were herded into the stairwell, with Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman at the fore with Dr. Arman and Walter, the Spectre positioned in the middle, and the two policemen bringing up the rear. The police had only come with so many handcuffs, so only the six hoodlums were handcuffed so far, with their hands behind their backs. Comically, Walter's dozen cats continued to follow everyone, with people sometimes almost tripping over them.
((I'm going to pause here, partly because it's late and I don't want to stay up to update the map, and partly to give you two time to think about if you want anyone else's hands bound and how.))

If there is a fire escape then the hoodlums, walter and one of the police officers can escort them down. The only ones Hourman, Captain, and Spectre need is just the doctor.

Hour-Man noticed there was no fire escape on this building (if there had been, no one would have needed to fly to the roof!).

Hour-Man and Captain Hawkman (+ Spectre)Friday May 26, 1940, 1:39 pm Philadelphia Corner of S 21st Street and Lombard Street For now, the Heroes trusted that being unarmed would keep the other prisoners in line. At long last they finally saw what was behind those double doors to the north - more corridors and doors! Dr. Arman put her glasses back on, looked around at the intersection, and turned left. But...Jay had warned them that the stairwell in the NW corner was trapped and that was the direction they were heading. The way they had expected to go was right.

Hourman says, " doctor if the intent is to escape or trap us let me remind you will also harm your brother here too, unless Jay is lying about the trap."

"You think I don't know how to deactivate my own traps?" she said sarcastically as they made their way to the door in the far west end of the last east-west corridor, on the north wall. ((I can mark it if you can't figure out which door I mean.))
