It's odd - this is actually the cover that turned out least good of all my efforts to prep this for POD, but I'm going with it because the cover doesn't matter to me as much as the contents, and the contents finally came out perfect!

To elaborate on the cover problem, the darker blue on the spine spills over onto the edge of the front cover and...eh. It doesn't look good there, but I'd have to recalculate the spine width and resubmit and...it's not really that bad.

Ugh! I finally noticed that the columns are shifted in the mobster section, so the number appearing range sometimes flips to the next line. The damage for claw attacks is missing on the tiger entry, and there is no space before the Merman entry. Gah!
Breathe....breathe...must accept it will never be completely perfect...

(POOF!)
Agh, Ack, PTUI! Sorry, my own fault for Posting during battle...stay safe on Earth-Prime and just relax-later!
(activates Blast I and begins boiling the entire quicksand pit into vapor, Octorillas fail Morale Check and begin frantically waving Maritime Distress flags)
Jeez, don't be a bunch of babies about this, The Resistance only needs your 'effin swamp for just one day, we launch the assault on the Rhode Island Fortress tomorrow and then we GO, all right? Good. I don't want your eggs, your nest, your food, none of it, savvy?
Sigh. Scott has his burdens and I have mine...

The military rifle is listed twice in the equipment list still. I thought I caught everything! Ugh...

Trust me, it could be worse-last month we had to assemble our rag-tag fleet under the very noses of Der Kapitalists, ran out of proper canvas and, well-long story short, we had to stage a daring night-time raid on several tailors' and dressmakers' establishments...
(produces photos)
The Gyrocopter on the right is known as The Paisley Avenger, and the one on the left is named The Plaid Menace-fourteen Enemy kills between the two of them, but we suspect the targets were too busy vomiting to put up much of a fight...
Oh, and that War Zeppelin they're escorting? The one hosting acre upon acre of flower print skin? We just call her The Daisy Chain. Those suckers glow in the dark too-our last bombing target reported that they were under attack by "A flying swarm of flaming Christmas wreaths"... Ah well, at least everything functions, right?

Sounds like someone wants to mix H&H with Dawn Patrol and get an aviator campaign underway...

Besides, we need something to combat the Kapitaliste Pteranadons once we head further South-we're just lucky Rhode Island is too cold for them!

For those wondering why I haven't produced any of the products I've been promising, one of the reasons is that I went back to fix more layout issues in the 2nd edition basic book. Version 2.2 is now available through DriveThruRPG (e-book only), and the POD version should be available on Amazon very soon!

After a careful reading and side-by-side of H&H V2 vs V2.2, I have to say-overall, great success! Comments: -I have no idea how you pared an already lean download from 8.8MB down to an astonishing 5.3MB-improved compression software, improved formatting, tighter editing, all of the above? -I noticed and appreciated the Cautionary Note added under Bandit. Comics back then were more than a bit 'tone-deaf' with respect to genders, minorities etc, and a reminder that the RPG doesn't have to follow suit is welcome. The warning is equally applicable to Native and Nomad, but additional cautions would honestlyhave been overkill after the first. There's nothing stopping an Editor from making Bandit gangs of any or even mixed ethnicity-heck, make them animated tailor's mannequins riding Hobby Horses under the control of a Sorcerer if you want... (note to self- remember that idea for later) - I think that Level 6 Superheroes would have easily been included by having the Powers Chart read Lvl 1(4) Lvl 2(3) Lvl 3(2) and not have to deal with Level 4 Powers at all. Even so, I can see why you didn't want to bother-once you get around to the inevitable 300 Page Giant Hoodlums and Hideouts Omnibus (coming soon? Pwetty Pwease? ) you would have consistency errors between the Basic and the Full editions-and why recreate the problem of Cook vs Mentzer Basic D&D, right? - The equipment Chart looks fantastic, cleaner than before, and if there is any duplication this time I don't see it. Also, the Trophy Tables appear easier to read. My ever-absent group(who finally stopped borrowing my Laser Printer and bought their own copies, about time!) are already nitpicking that 'Horses are not as fast as Model T Fords', while you and I both know that in Golden Age Comics they dang well are! I'll just deface all those brand new PODs by scribbling "Wonder Horse" in the margins if they keep complaining about Genre Tropes... -On Page 15, I couldn't help but notice that the 'Johnny Thunder' entry is in the process of losing a Contest of Wills, being mugged, tied up and booted offstage by an impatient Phantom Magician! Now it's obviously a formatting error from V2 to V2.2a-but honestly, that is so in character for poor Johnny...maybe you should leave it in!
Johnny Thunder (Flash Comics). Born at 7 am on the 7th day of the 7th month of a year ending in 7 (1917), this was believed to be of mystical significance to a coven of magic-users from the island world of Badhnisia, who abducted him at the age of 7. "MMMPHHH! UMMPH MFFFFFF MURG! URRRGGGLEEeeeeeeemm.......zzzzzzzzz"
(Phantom Magician places bottle of Ether back in pocket)
"Well, so much for the amateurs...do keep reading, won't you?"
Phantom Magician (Famous Funnies). The son of the Father of Magicians, etc etc etc

Compression: Not my doing, but seems to have been improvements in the software I've used over the last few years. The benefits of these projects getting stretched out so long! 4th-level powers: I briefly considered this, as well as putting more mobsters into the mobsters section, but adding more material would give me more chances to have mistakes that need further fixing. Equipment list: There better not be any duplicates in there anymore! Phantom Magician: From my perspective, it looks like Phantom Magician is the one who got kicked off the page, not Johnny. As awkward as it is, it's better than having the list of spells spread out over two pages.
