It's been a while since I've been on here. Hell it's been a while since I've been able to do any gaming. Didn't see any new posts here. Hope someone has been able to get in some H&H lately.

I hope so too-alas, I am not one of them. Everybody that wants to play has a different work schedule, so until that changes i'm just taking a few notes for my 'maybe one day' game and making the occasional musical instrument on my few 'me' hours a week.
Just as well I suppose because at present i'm on constant speed-dial helping my Counter-Earth allies wage a World Revolution, and since the Chronopack is on the fritz again I need to perform another week of Research and 2000 Bucks-it's not like NC is Zeta Beam territory after all...

I know. I've been a terrible host, not even checking my board in a long time.
So I'll be plain. Since my last online campaign imploded, I've taken a step back and looked at how ambitious I've been with H&H, and self-publishing more broadly. I have a substantial body of work out there already which I know at least you two will remember. And I had so much more planned. But self-imposed deadlines have taken their toll on my marriage, causing us to move in different directions as she looked to fill her time with other things when I was too busy writing.
So self-imposed deadlines will have to go. Will I ever get the Mobster Manual done? Hopefully someday. Will Funny Picture Stories #5 ever come out? I hope so. But I'm not going to force these things to happen, and will only work on them when no one else needs my time.
That said, let's keep this message board around and see if anyone else discovers and appreciates all the hard work I put into these products over 10 years.

Absolutely nothing wrong with putting your actual job, marriage and life before your hobby. Heck, Real Life is the reason my gang hasn't met in months-and why we've switched to Boardgames on the rare meeting...Real Life always trumps Elfgames unless you're the CEO of Hasbro-and then its a JOB.
Having said that, it's obvious that the H&H project was a true passion of yours, and quite frankly i'm amazed at the output i've seen from a man with a full-time job and a partner...certainly more than I ever have, and i've certainly never published a friggen' thing. Even if you never return to H&H again (highly unlikely, i'm pretty sure it's in your blood) I have this gigantic catalog of stuff for 1st and 2nd Editions-and while I would love to acquire more I am more than willing to wait patiently-and with the entire OSR buffet within reach of my mouse I am not lacking in Inspiration if I can ever get my Players together...in short, NO ONE is going to blame you in the least for throttling back on a hobby and investing more time with family and friends...
However, I absolutely blame you for getting me hooked on Golden Age comics and obscure publishers-do you not understand how much free stuff there is over at Archive.org?
(glances guiltily at the Superman Chronicles Vol I PDF, the Spirit Magazine 1974 Revival Issues #1-16, The Heap #1 PDF, the Skywald Comics folder, the Warren Comics folder, etc etc......)
You have DOOMED me, sirrah. Oh well, it least it's one of the more harmless drugs...
(ties anchor chain to leg and cannonballs into endless sea of data....alas, will Order99 ever be heard from again? Will his latest batch of Cigar Box Ukuleles remain unfinished? And what of Little Nell?)

Hey, gang. I should have checked over on this thread first before chiming in over on the Mobster Manual thread! I. of course, echo all of what order99 has to say above. Scott, you've already put out more raw material than I'd ever have time to make use of, so any pestering on my part is purely for selfish "I wanna read that!" reasons I should mention that I am also really enjoying catching up on Scott's blog. Wishing everyone the best!

Thanks, guys!
The H&H books are on indefinite hiatus, but the smaller comic book projects aren't dead; I still have hopes to get Funny Picture Stories #5 done this month.

I appreciate all the work you've put into H&H already Scott. While I would love to see the Mobster Manual come out, along with more follow up projects, I totally understand your situation. Family is everything!
