"There's a lot of risk to the military base raid plan," the Web said. "Impersonating an officer alone could get you in trouble, let alone everything else you'd have to do. Still, if you're both willing to entertain the notion....Echo, can you mimic clothing as well, so that you appear to be in uniform? Or, Arrowhead, could you secure uniforms? Echo, can you look like a specific person (say, a sergeant or warrant officer, if Arrowhead could introduce you to one)?
"Then there's the old chestnut of going in and pretending that the prisoner's court date has been moved up and paperwork is on its way. Risky, but requires less precision timing. Otherwise, we would need to find out the date of his next court hearing and time it so you arrive to pick him up just before the real soldiers scheduled to take him do (I guess it would be up to me to distract the real soldiers?)."

The radio broadcast music stops with the DJ cutting in.. "we are sorry to interrupt this program but news from the home front. This radio station was notified by the Beverly Hills police, that Nazi spies were behind the robbery. Apparently these men were trying to cause chaos, vandalism, and sedition besides making money. the police did not tell us when the trial date was set and they are not going to allow us or the press to interview the spies. The police wanted to tell us that they and the military here is making our nation safe from Nazi and Japanese spies.

((Good thing we prefer to plan to music!))
"That was a curious reveal," The Web said. "The police have to have been in on the cover-up initially, and would surely not risk the Army's ire by outing them like that without permission. So...why does the Army want to reveal this information now, days later? Thoughts?"

"With the potential stool pigeon in the calaboose surrounded by dicks, the infiltration plan seems like the best bet. I can keep it up for about a half a day. If needed I can do a specific person, but if we went that route, then what person would we do? And where and how would I get their attention if they've gone underground?"
Echo wondered if Carlos and the hobo information-train overlapped with the Nazis at all, "It would seem like they would be interested in two types of people, the elite and connected sympathizers in positions of power, and possibly the disenfranchised for use as eyes & ears or as, gulp, cannon fodder."

"That's an interesting theory, Echo," The Web said, "but I think we've seen no evidence of them recruiting poor people or elite people. The Nazis have gone after disgruntled school teachers and eccentric toy makers -- more middle class people. We can take a chance on them changing their tactics, or we can try to make you as attractive a recruit as possible. The problem is...I'm not sure how best we can do that. Any further thoughts?"

"The toymaker and teacher could have been plants too. We may be dealing with an entrenched network of spies."

Meanwhile... A man hidden in shadows addresses the Doll-maker. " You have failed me and the cause. Headquarters has told me that they are not pleased. Now that you have recovered from your injuries you will carry out the next step of the plan." The Doll-maker pleads, " I am sorry but these men attacked me. These are well trained men, not military or police, they wore masks. They killed my creation and captured my assistant. " The man hidden in shadows comes closer to the face of the doll-maker. To keep with the mystery, only the SS black uniform of the man is seen, he says, "if you vant to see your dear Frau and your daughter again you will do as commanded. " The doll-maker nods in acceptance.
A door opens and a very attractive blond woman dressed in a SS uniform enters. She salutes the officer and he says, " this is Frau Blucher. She will be in command of your next mission. " She salutes and the scene fades back to our heroes decided what to do next

>"We may be dealing with an entrenched network of spies."
"We have to hope that we are not, don't we? An entrenched network will have less need for actively recruiting.
"Here, let's try this. We give Echo a few days at Plan A, which will be trying to get recruited as just a generic hobo. If that fails, we move up to Plan B, have him replace someone specific in the middle class for a few days who would be a good recruit for the Nazis. Plan C would be more difficult, as we don't currently have any elite contacts that I'm aware of who could help us get in with the Nazis. Plan D would be breaking out one of the arrested spies, but by then it will be even harder to pursue plan D.
In the meanwhile, Arrowhead and I could address the drug triad problem. And we can all wait to see if the Nazis try anything new that will give us another chance to publicly oppose them."

"We need to have a way to stay in touch with Echo," Charlie scribbled a note.
"Here, this is the number for the American Legion post downtown. Call and ask to speak with Jimmy Garcia. If you're in trouble or if you don't check in every evening, we'll come find you. Jimmy can be trusted." Charlie handed the note to the Agent.
