The Agent raised the volume and vibration in his voice, "The woman may be kicking the bucket right here in front of you. Get the doctor now!" I may have overdone my emotions as a vase on the counter cracks to the sound of my voice.

Scene one: Forgot to mention this but since this is a school day, Dave has taken Mikey out of school for the day. He claims Mikey was sick. Dave looks at Charley and says, "look man those guys were fans of mine and wanted to give me a gift. Mike why don't you play with your toys over at the table over there in the pit. " Mike gets his bag of toys and plays on the table. Charley notices the bike is in fine working order and can tell that Dave is definitely sweating as if nervous and is looking back at the two well dressed men. One of them is watching this conversation
Scene two: one of the waiting room flower vases does seem to crack spilling water and the flower on the end table of the waiting room. After holding her ears for a second, the receptionist says, "okay okay, let me knock on the door" She goes to the doctors door and knocks and a middle aged man, brown hair, with a trim moustache enters the reception area. He sees Phyllis's condition and (rolling a save vs plot) identifies her and says, "Jan call the hospital immediately and send over a car. " The doctor, "Dr Hastings" says to agent echo, "quickly lets place her on this couch and help me get some towels and a blanket and try to cool her temperature off. She has a seizure or a drug overdose.
Scene three: The scared little girl hesitates and another bolt comes loose of the fire escape and it forces it to sway. Fortunate the professor is quick and brings her and her cat into the room safely. The fire escape after her jump buckles and it looks ready to break off and fall into the street. The kids are still down their arguing and some scream seeing the escape buckle. The little girl and cat are safe but the rest of the kids might be in danger. However, it looks that this matter is taken care of as the school bus shows up and starts to pick up the kids. The bus driver manages to get all kids on or making their way on the bus as a portion of the escape breaks loose crashing to the ground. The little girl says, "my name is heather and this is Cloie. Thank you for rescuing me but I missed the bus and my parents are at work or out. I was bringing my cat for show and tell. Can you get me to school? I go to 66th street elementary and am in the 2nd grade. What is your name sir?"

Agent E follows the Doctor's instructions as helpfully as he can. He had been alone on the road for so long, with his powers to help him out of any physical alterations, that he had almost forgotten about how much (real?) people need other people. But was he a person, wasn't he? As he handed over a pillow the Agent silently asked himself - he breathed, he ate (but he wasn't sure he needed to), he felt emotions...didn't he?
The team work with The Web and Arrowhead, and now with the doctor a solid reminder that The Agent of Sound did need other people. Maybe that was the criteria to be a person, you just needed need others.
The Agent paid attention, and when things got quieter waiting for the ambulance he turned to Dr. Hastings, "Thank you Doctor. I may seem like a mild-mannered hobo, but I help the downtrodden as a masked avenger. Your efforts prove you're here to help others too. If you're ever in trouble and my kind of help just let me know."

"Hey Dave, just know that if you're in trouble, I can help. I'm not just a mechanic, I was in the Marines," Charlie spoke in a calm voice, trying to calm Dave down. "I don't want you to do anything you'll regret."

It looked like the fire escape was ready to break off and fall into the street. John tore the cord off the man's curtains/blinds, reached out, tied it to the fire escape on one end, and then lashed the other end to a nearby radiator in the room. He knew the cord would not hold forever, but it would likely hold long enough to ensure all the children were safely on the bus before all that metal came crashing down. ((If I can't get a handy radiator, then John simply leans into the wall and uses himself as the anchor.))

Scene one: Dave says "look man I have played a few card games in Vegas and I owe the men above me a lot of money. Their boss tries to threaten me and my family. I knew I can't pay back the money I owe. So their boss told me to throw this race and he will take half of the owed money. He said If I throw the next two races after this one we would be all square. The money in the envelope is to be used to pay you for fixing my bike and also to fix the bike for the next races. "
Scene two: Doctor hasting says, "you have a good heart son and I saw you making friends with the rest of the homeless. When she is satated and calm down and when we bring her to the hospital I have an offer for you. I am looking to rent a room in my house for some extra money. Me and my wife Ceclia's kids are at college and fully grown. What say as a thanks of appreciation you move into my house and I will give you the first months rent free until you get a job?" At this point the ambulance is on its way and after the shot of morphine, Phyliss looks to calm down.
Scene three: With using the curtain the web is able to secure the post long enough so the rest of the children make it on to the bus. The fire escape section and blinds do crash onto the street. The little girl now waits for the professor response to her question

"I'm Professor Raymond, little girl," John answered. But then he turned his attention to the landlord.
"How could you have allowed your fire escape to fall into such disrepair? There is no way this building is up to code." He sounded angry -- and was, since children had been endangered -- but he was eager to hear if there was an explanation.

Scene one and two: waiting for responses. Realizing scene two will be delayed.. Stay tuned for these results
Scene three: The little girl smiles and seems calmer and not so scared. The cat is purring and is calmed down as well. The man says "hey i called my Handyman to come down and look at this. He told me that the city is responsible for paying for this. My Handyman said I need to speak with the Alderman of this area. Which since I have seen what will happen I am going to the Alderman Brady's office now. My handyman, Greg will at least make sure the rest of the fire escape is in good condition. " The little girl pulls on the professor shirt and says," can we go to school now?"

John drove the little girl to her school ((because this is 1943, so no one's going to think this is weird)).
Then he drove on to the campus of the University of Southern California. He stopped at his office and called his bank. "Yes, this is John Raymond...I did miss my loan appointment yesterday ((see the first campaign thread!)). I was wondering if we could reschedule for tomorrow morning. Oh, you can squeeze me in at 11? Excellent! Yes, sorry for having inconvenienced you. I'll be there."
Then he prepped more notes for today's classes. He had a morning class and an afternoon class on Tuesdays. Rose Wayne, his star pupil, was in his afternoon class. He was half-tempted to tell her about the Triad to get her opinion on the matter. Hmm...perhaps he could, in a way..."

The morning class was Criminal Justice 101, a class that John had memorized from years of teaching. It was all by rote now, with no one in the class wanting to discuss anything, except for one problem student who just liked to be contrarian with his professor.
At lunch, John called Arrowhead's garage from his office to check and see if Charlie was in. It left John's secret identity vulnerable to being traced, but it was a first step towards trusting his new comrades.

Either Arrowhead wasn't in or John didn't leave the phone ringing long enough. He did not have time for a long phone call anyway; he had prep work to do to change his plans for class today.
Rose Wayne was in his afternoon criminology class. He was particularly interested to see how his class reacted to this.
"Three men break into a Los Angeles restaurant, dressed like comic book superheroes. They beat up the workers, cause damage, and escape, but leave the manager of the restaurant dead, apparently at his own hands. What do you make of that? Theories anyone?"

One student William says, "these men might be a rival gang or bad guys getting their kicks of hurting people. They might be try to rob the place and the job went badly" Another girl, Megan says, "has the police been notified or have commented. I saw this in the Bugle this morning."
Meanwhile: The horn sounds and it looks like the race is beginning to start and Dave starts to bring the bike to the start line. He does not take his tool box for the money to pay Charlie. Looks like the money is a small amount given how much Dave might owe the two well dressed men's boss.
The ambulance arrives and the paramedics come in and help bring Phylis to the hospital. Doctor Hastings says to agent Echo, " i can get you a taxi to go to the hospital where Phyliss will be taken too . I would take you myself but I have patients. The offer stands if you would like the room. "

John hid his disappointment in his students. In answer to Megan, he produced the newspaper he had bought that morning and passed it around. "You should all be reading the newspaper for crime reports every morning, but in case you missed this, I'll pass it around. More details were surely come to light as the police investigate. I'm just asking you to speculate based on what you know from the public record and what you've learned in class."
"Well..." Rose spoke up, "we should be trying to prove or disprove the obvious theories first, and the obvious theory, it seems to me, is that we take the story on face value."
"And what is face value here?"
"That people dressed as superheroes really are superheroes, and they were there for reasons that superheroes usually do. That would mean that some crime was being committed, or maybe being planned, in the restaurant and the superheroes came to stop it."
"Very good," John said. "Anyone else?"

"Gee Wiz... thanks Doc. Also, if you ever need help with any odd jobs around here let me know." The Agent had never had a 'place' to call his own, "Pretty easy for me to move in too."
The Agent will accept the keys, and check the place out. Get an understanding of the closest phone, police station, alleys and other/any roof-tops within jumping... essentially the best way in and out if he needs to come in costume. Then if he'll clean up better than he's been in quite some time, and buy a newspaper... I'm going to need a day job.
