Great Scott!! You're about 30 minutes from my house in Park Ridge, and Arrowhead is in southern Illinois.

Maybe you can all come game with us sometime in person. Message me privately if you're interested. Sorry, Archer, but everything south of Joliet is southern Illinois.

2 questions. First: this is a play test of 2nd edition, so what are the main differences? So far, I've found out that superheroes get a power at 1st level (yaaay and huzzah!) like clerics in AD&D. And some small changes to racial abilities. Second: now that we have 3 players who appear to be eager to post, at what increments should we expect turns or plot movement or whatever you want to call it? (asking politely, since this is the internet and I don't want the question to me misconstrued as snark or being a db or anything :-) )

A lot of the game mechanic differences will be taking place behind the scenes, like skill checks. Everything you've ever seen a comic book hero do, that isn't combat-related, is now either a basic (2 in 6 chance) or an expert (1 in 6 chance) skill.
XP is now more firmly tied to Alignment and is divided between heroes when earned instead of everybody getting the same rewards (this rewards solo play).
Firearms are both more dangerous (with much higher rate of fire), and more disadvantageous (with high chance of disarm, jamming, and need to reload often).
I'm sure more differences will turn up as we go.
As for rate of play, that's tied to how often Darren can post...

I have the rule book now! Thanks Dave. Scott & Darren... Inspired by you I started my own play by post. Appreciate any advice for running it. I'm finding the pacing strange, and having a little bit of trouble balancing the sandbox vs. railroad. Just thought it would make an interesting conversation if you guys have any insight.
Great system, amazing flavor, and I'm really enjoying it. Thanks.

Nicely done, Kal!
There really is no good way to run a play by post campaign; the pace is torturous for all but the most patient players.
I can, however, look back and see why each of my pbp campaigns died. My last one died because we should have had a weekly or bi-weekly chat about where we thought the game was going, instead of focusing so much on just keeping momentum going in one direction. One chat-based conversation about what people thought was going on about the bomb threat might have solved everything.
My campaign before that (a D&D one) died for a similar reason; I wanted to switch my city-based roleplay-heavy campaign to a dungeon-based exploration-heavy campaign and half of my players didn't want to go there. In that case, I knew what direction was going to give us trouble, and just took it anyway.
My campaign before that (H&H) died because it was too ambitious. I wanted to move the campaign from Minnesota to China and roleplay out the entire journey, which taxed people's patience too much. Again, discussion might have alleviated this, as would a good fast forward. Fast forwarding is a tool I don't like to use as a DM/Editor, but it does seem to help pbp games enormously.
