"How did he escape? Transdimensional gate generator? Jerphold glider? Through the window?" Posited the Durlan from Durla. "Shouldn't we be chasing him?"

Looking at the monster cop, Cap then ran for the back door chasing after the wounded mobster.

Gorlock decided to let Cap chase the bad guy. Blevin could easily be overpowered by three barely restrained captives.
"Blevin. I originally came here following a signal leading me to alien life on Earth. From what this man says," the Durlan motioned to the better dressed thug, "it seems to have holed up with the rest of the baddies. I would like to consider a team up in clearing this group after Cap gets back."

By the time Captain Avenger got out into the backyard -- the fourth man was nowhere to be found.
((surprise: 4 vs. 2 - bad guy wins surprise, but hides. To spot: 3 - fails))

Gorlock turned to the better dressed thug again. "I'll ask you again. What supplies do you have here? When are the next ones being delivered and by who? When are you expected back?"
Said the not normal by any means scary alien creature named Gorlock.

The caballist finished his work and says " good to meet you gorlock. Call me howard or the caballist. In my world i am an entertainer who performs magic. I also help out the coppers when i can. I would enjoy teaming up with you. "
Then doing some prestidigitation quock tricks he says to the thugs " i suggest you answer his questions because he is not the only one who can be scary as i actually wield real magic."

"How-Ard? Ca-bal-ist? These are hard words for my speech. I think Blevin will do for now."

Deciding to report this in Captain Avenger went to the bowling alley to see if they had a phone.

The Leading Man was lost in the woods. He had thought he was chasing after the escaping villain but he seemed to have just floundered into the brush. "Lem" was fed up with the strain and sat down to have a rest. He woulda smoked a cigarette but the CO had gotten on a temperance kick and banned the things. So instead he just rested his sore bones and listened to see if he might get a bead on the fleeing hoodlum.

Seeing the creature try to sound out his name howard and the caballist makes Howard smile. He also things to himself how this creature would make a great part of his act. Convincing veronica would be difficult and perhaps frightening but Veronica has seen Howards true magic so if she believes this she should believe the creature. Right now he awaits the thugs answers.

Outside, The Leading Man rested and was understandably frustrated. There was no way that man had escaped the backyard without being noticed. There was fence on all sides that no one had seen him hop over. There was a shed, but no one had seen the door to it open. There was a L-shaped row of bushes that the man had used for cover initially, but he was no longer behind the bushes. There was a tree, but he did not appear to have climbed the tree, and the tree did not offer much cover if he was up there. But just then, he noticed the front gate to the fence was open and had not been before. The sneaky thug had slipped away while The Leading Man was looking the other way!
The Leading Man gave chase out of the yard and towards the woods west of the property, where he saw the man run. The man had a good 100' head start on him, and there was an awful lot of cover in the woods to help elude capture...
Inside, The Cabalist and Gorlock double-teamed the prisoner who seemed to know the most and wore him down. "Some food and drink, probably more guns and ammo," the man said. "Wood and Virginia here," he said, pointing to the couple cowering next to him, "were probably going to drive them up into the mountains soon and drive back down with some of our guards for furlough. That happened once a week. The important stuff is all up at our base."
Wood, the grubby one who wet himself, was forced to confirm this was true. "I was goin' up there tomorrow," he squeaked.
When forced to elaborate on what "the important stuff" was, the first man said, "Like the bomb...the one we plan to use on the train station in Minneapolis..."
Meanwhile, Captain Avenger had found no conveniently located phone so far, so he sprinted east up the street towards the downtown bowling alley. When he got there, he planned to call...
((surprise for TLM: 6 vs. 2 - bad guy wins again and moves. To spot: 5. Auto-spot on the open gate. Save vs. plot for a convenient phone: 11))

The Leading Man's mechanical joints and piston-legs began pumping as he gave chase after the criminal. He raised his arm and fired a warning shot to scare the man so he had to slow down.

The caballist says " where is this bomb, the materials? Who is your leader? Are you part of the natzi military or brainwashed idealists?"

Outside, The Leading Man took a risk on letting the distance gap widen by slowing down to take a warning shot. It failed; the man just sprinted harder and had a 130' lead as they continued west away from town.
Inside, the prisoners kept talking. "It's all back at the base. You know, where you chased us out of just a few hours ago. Our regional leaders, as far as I know, are Kevin DuFour and George Opitz. They founded our branch of the Silver Legion of America because we all believe in American nationalism. You like that our dictator, Roosevelt, is sending our boys overseas to fight for Jews, instead of protecting our folks at home?"

"Lem" said something colorful, "Red-ribbed woodpecker!" And chased after the fleeing bad guy.
