Hey guys. Just a note to let you all know what's been going on with my newish H&H campaign.
It takes place in NYC in 1943. The game started on a night my game group didn't have enough players to run our usual D&D game. I'd been wanting to start an H&H game, and this was the perfect opportunity.
A superhero, magic user, mystery man and a fighter were quickly rolled up and I used the Zatanna-like device of the M-U also being a stage magician to bring everyone together. The M-U was a part of a variety show playing at Madison Square Garden, and the other characters were in the audience.
Of course a mad scientist attacked the show with a mad science paralyzing ray and a bunch of hired goons.
We soon found out the M-U (played by one of my nephew's wife) was quite blood-thirsty. She put her sleep spell to good use, effecting the scientist and a few goons. When I asked, "What do you do next?" She looked to her character sheet, saw the dagger listed there, and bouncingly announced, "I slit their throats!"
Anyway, the police soon showed up, our heroes ran off and formed a crime fighting alliance (sadly, still unnamed).
At the next game session, two other players showed up, a fighter and alien super hero were rolled up. Then I had to quickly introduce these two. The fighter is a Marine (based on a real life WWII Marine). Easy enough there, he's on special assignment to the NYPD. Now the Alien posed a bit more of an issue. It was decided that he was Venutian, and his powers were derived from special 'Venutian Isotopes'. Then I decreed that 'Space Fascists' had recently taken over Venus, and our guy was one of the resistance leaders. He was in a space dogfight with some of the Space Fascists and was forced down to Earth directly over Central Park. His ship crashed, burning (keeping him from scavenging any Venutian technology), and he was pursued by 2 Space Fascist fighter craft. Of course our Marine NYPD guy and the mysteryman from the earlier game seperately noticed the disturbance over Central Park and rushed to investigate.
A gun fight ensued, a Space Fascist was shot in the face, and a new allies were found.
There's been one more session, where all players were present. The Curious Case of the Fairy Queen. But that's a story for another time.....
