The rifleman kept shooting at Gorlock, finally hitting him once, but only lightly injuring the flailing alien. Gorlock knocked over the bunk bed that served as his opponent's cover, but failed to hit the mobsters.
The Leading Man hopped into melee, ducked under the flashlight when it was swung as a weapon, and delivered a vicious uppercut that knocked the man down. The Leading Man recognized this guy from earlier.
Captain Avenger ran in, saw the mobster with the flashlight go down, and shot at the other one. With dead-eye accuracy and lack of concern for human life, he shot right between two of Gorlock's flailing tentacles and nailed the remaining mobster in the chest. Now that mobster went down too.
The Cabalist found it was easy to apprehend the man Gorlock knocked down since the man was unconscious.
The room was secured, and much faster and easier than last time! Unfortunately, this time they had also been too successful and left no one conscious to question...
((Initiative: 1 vs. 5 - bad guys go first. To hit Gorlock: 15- 4 dmg, Gorlock's to hit: 8, to hit The Leading Man: 1, The Leading Man's to hit: 13- 2 dmg, Captain's save vs. plot: 18, to hit: 20- 5 dmg))

"What next?" The Leading Man asked.

It was a fair question.
None of these five men were recognized by Captain Avenger as Kevin DuFour, the remaining leader of the Silver Shirts, nor have they found any obvious bombs yet. They would likely have to search the rooms they had already won control of for the bomb, explore further for Kevin, or wait for one of their prisoners to wake up...and after the beating these men took, that could take hours.

The Caballist suggest " we should search these rooms we have won hopefully we find the bomb or a diary from the bomber. Here is a thought what if the bomb is already on the train and when it arrives they can detonate it?"
The Caballist asks gorlock " do you need first aid?"

"Ask me later, when human lives are not in danger, blevin," Gorlock responded. "Just search with me!"
The four heroes threw themselves into the effort of searching the pillared hall and this barracks room. It seemed that the Silver Shirts had already done most of the work for you, as they had collected their possessions into one big bundle, as if they were moving out. Here they found 7 sleeping bags, three kerosene lamps, a metal canister full of kerosene, four gallon-sized canteens, a case of beer bottles, a case of cigarettes, a case of canned foodstuffs, 5 1-lb. bags of beef jerky, a bag of dirty cups and bowls and plate and utensils, a sack of towels and rags, 4 hunting rifles and a case of bullets, 4 hunting knives, and a stack of pamphlets held with a rubber band. The pamphlets are anti-government propaganda for recruiting to the Silver Shirts. There is also money among the bundles and on their persons -- $217.15 worth.
While searching the mattresses in the barracks, The Cabalist feels something sewn into it. Ripping the mattress open, he finds a leather pouch with three small gemstones in it.
But they found no bomb.
It was now 6:45 am. If the Silver Shirts had really been waiting until the last minute to leave with the bomb to reach the train station, they would be leaving any minute now.

The caballist suggests " unless they have a back door the bomb must be still here. Unless we split up and two of us head to the train station in hopes to beat them there. They will be driving slower to not set off the bomb."

"I will volunteer to return to the station for trains and watch for the bomb holders, blevin," Gorlock volunteered.

"Good luck, or slurblorn zooldur, as we say in my language!" Gorlock said, waving with a tentacle. "I will return to pick you up later today, since I will need the car..." The Cabalist, The Leading Man, and Captain Avenger were free to explore more. They could head north, into a room The Leading Man had barely time to look in before, or take the southeast passage from the pillared hall, or try the door in the west wall of the barracks. Or backtrack and try to get through the south door in the room west of the pillared hall.

Once The Cabalist bailed on the going north plan, Captain Avenger was outvoted ((though he could still go it alone)).
On the west side of the barracks, The Leading Man threw open the doors and found a musty-smelling corridor leading straight west. It was 10' wide, 8' high, and extended 50'. At 40', there was a door on the right (north) and at the far end it turned to the left (south).
There was still no sign of a bomb.
