Az's latest posts are shifting away from writing up a campaign setting and are more about writing up an alternate real-world history. What if Martin Goodman had sold off Timely Comics to DC Comics?
I can think up a few scenarios where that could have happened. One would be Martin, in panic mode, bailing on comic books post-war when sales dropped for everyone. Two would be Martin suing DC for stealing Simon and Kirby away from him, losing that suit, and then losing his shorts in DC's countersuit. Three would be DC simply gobbling up the competition, the way DC would do later anyway in the 1950s (this would probably require mysterious financial backers to be able to buy out Martin at the height of his glory).
The scenario we choose would probably determine when the merger happened.
Then we would look at which titles would have remained. All of Timely's titles? Just the better-selling ones? Or would, as Az hopes, DC recognize the IP value of Timely's big three superheroes and keep their titles going indefinitely, the way DC did with their big three?

I'll add Marvel Super Heroes, where the campaign would be largely random fistfights with random groups of supervillains drawn from both companies. That sounds like a great and fantastic idea.go for it!

You're welcome. More things to consider: If Marvel Comics were published as DC Comics, who would have been allowed to work on them? Stan Lee built an empire out of the cast-offs from other companies, but would DC have allowed him so much autonomy as a DC imprint, or would he have been replaced with a company man? What if Marvel Comics were produced as DC-like anthology titles? scottenkainenland.blogspot.com/2015/09/fantastic-four-comics.html

I suppose we could also use this discussion to highlight the differences between superhero RPGs. How would Allen's campaign idea play out differently based on different game systems? In H&H, it would almost surely be set during the 1930s-40s, and it would be a gonzo world of mobsters, aliens, and other weirdness inhabiting sprawling hideouts. In Superhero 2044, it would be set in the -- gosh, now-near future and it would be about patrolling the streets of that setting. In Villains & Vigilantes, it would be about playing yourself in that setting. What generalizations can we make about other systems...? Here is what my campaign idea would play out differently based on the following games systems:in marvel super heroes,Superman,Batman and Wonder Woman would emerge onto the scene as the first three costumed super heroes in 1940. in silver age sentinels,Superman,Batman, the flash, green lantern, and Wonder Woman would be among the costumed super heroes who emerged onto the scene in 1939.
