At the mention of the coppers Agent Echo launches himself over 20 feet up the side of the building and grabs onto the fire escape at that point, making the climb before the other two. Once on the roof (first) he looks over the side to insure they are not being pursued.

What in the Sam Hill am I getting myself into? Richard thought as he climbed behind them to the roof.

All three of you make it to the roof and surprisingly the officer who is leaving the restaraunt did not see the homeless man leap 20 feet in the air to the roof. The others did see the third man making the superhuman leap.
Each of you are out of sight from the officer as you see him run to the store

On the roof, The Web pointed to the other two men. "Between the three of us, there is a lot of suspiciousness here. I thought the winner would be you," he said, pointing to Arrowhead, "the one I caught trying the back door of the robbed store. But the winner is you," he said, pointing to Agent Echo, "with that 20' leap. What are you, that you can do that?"

"That was close," Agent Echo turned and assessed the two strangers. Holding his hands up to show he's unarmed. "Why where you two breaking into the store?"

"While I can't speak for Mr. Webs, I wasn't breaking into the store. I was investigating. I have a, um, problem with criminals." Charlie looks at the two other masked men in turn. " I'm the Arrowhead, and I fight crime."

"They call me Agent Echo. I fight... corruption." Leo wondered if he and A-head would agree to where crime and corruption overlapped. "It did seem unusual that the store would be broken into a second time in the same day. Especially by such a colorful dynamic duo."
Looking over the Web, Leo assesses him as the strong 'more' silent type. "Hmmm, I have some 'skills' I could lend to your investigation if you'll have me. We might get more done out of a team-up or two, and I might have a mystery you could help me with someday."
(Agent Echo does a quick check at the fire escape to insure they're not being followed even at the risk of coming off a bit paranoid to the other two.)
"What do you have to go on so far?"
(If they agree to fill me in I'll just go back and read through the thread - no need to retype everything unless you think it would help to make a synopsis.)

"Whoa, back up a moment," The Web said, giving a "pushing away" gesture with his hands. "Let's get back to finding out who we're dealing with first. I'm The Web."
He waited for some sign of recognition from either of them. "You know, as in 'criminals caught by the Web?' No? Well...I haven't had a lot of press coverage so far. But back to my previous question, Echo. How were you able to make that 20' leap?"

"Can't say that I've heard of you, but most newspapers I read are at least a few days old."
The Agent holds a bare hand up and it begins to vibrate.
"As for me, I'm Agent Echo... Sound is my playground-ground-ground-ground!!" "The very isolation in the air are at my beck and call-call-all-al-al-al!!"
The Agent stands up tall and plants his fists on his hips with his blue collar flapping in the roof-top wind. He holds for applause that may or may not come.
"Okay, how can I help wrap up the case of the... the case of the... what is it we're investigating anyway?"

Meanwhile, the police officer enters the store and checks the scene. After a minute he resets the alarm and leaves shutting the door. He is oblivious to the other conversations on the roof next door . He then goes to a emergency phone to check in.

"Sound manipulation... I suppose that's the beginning of an answer," the Web said.
After a pause he began again. "I find it very hard to believe that three crime-fighting vigilantes all happened to choose to investigate the same building all at the same time, but without evidence to the contrary let's assume for now we're all telling the truth.
"So, to answer *your* questions, Echo, I'm investigating a string of jewelry store robberies here in Los Angeles, this store we were at being the latest hit. The thief or thieves strike at night when the stores are locked and empty. The stores are still locked after the thefts and no alarms are tripped.

"What are the chances the thief will come back here? Maybe we should be checking out another store? Do we know exactly what has been taken from each place?"

((Editing for this to come after Arrowhead's questions.))
"The thieves don't take everything - only small items," The Web responded. "I wouldn't be surprised if the press starts giving the thief some moniker like Magpie soon...
"I never expected the thieves to come back here, as they've never hit the same store twice yet. Well...I never expected them to come back, until I saw a suspicious character at the back door..." he added, looking suspiciously at Arrowhead. "I was here to check on how they're getting in and out. I checked and there's no way the thieves are getting in from above. At least at this location, the roof is sealed tight as a drum. That leaves some other options, like inside jobs, coming in from under the floor, having some sort of hi-tech sound manipulation..." he added, looking suspiciously at Agent Echo.
"This was the third store hit. There was also a bank robbery recently that may or may not be the work of the same thieves. All four jobs occurred on the northwest side of LA, and there are only two more stores in this area. My next goal was to check out both of those stores tonight, and then see the inside of them tomorrow in the day."

"Looks like this scene is played out. We should go to one of the others and wait for the criminals."

"Sure, but we'll only get lucky to catch them tonight," the Web responded. "These thefts haven't been daily occurrences."
((We need the names and addresses of the two remaining jewelry stores.))
