So, if I had three or four players who could post at least every other day, I'd be interested in maybe running a H&H campaign here...

Would really like to get into some kind of supers game. What supplements would you be using? I only the three core books.

When we get 2-3 more players, we can decide by majority vote which, if any supplements to include.

Seems I have 2-3 players already! Since this is now likely going to happen, let's start discussing this.
I would like to set a new campaign in November 1941, so that it runs chronologically parallel (at least at the start) with my other campaigns. My location preferences would be Chicago or Duluth, but I'm open to other options -- indeed, since one of the heroes may be a merman, maybe we need a coastal city?
As for rules, I'd be fine with running this off just the three core rulebooks, but we can include as many supplements or optional rules from The Trophy Case as the majority wants.

Of course Captain Neptune would prefer a coastal location, but I could do another character if desired. Though, I don't know, perhaps David Jones is the proprietor of a creepy lakeside aquarium/theme park and somehow Captain Neptune has been banished from the ocean itself, until he can prove himself worthy to return. Or something. I am okay with using any or all published supplements. Hey, perhaps if needed I could play The Chicago Kid, legacy hero descendent of an Old Western Cowboy. or something.

The nice things about Duluth and Chicago is that the Great Lakes could substitute, in a pinch, for a maritime adventure. But The Chicago Kid would be fine with me too. Maybe you'll want to wait to decide until after you get your stats, or see what others want to play.

The more I think about it the more I like a Captain Neptune in exile! Backstory: Once a mortal sea captain, David Jones loved the ocean with a love so deep and true that She felt and returned it. Atlantica appeared to him (as a giant Mermaid) and granted him the Trident of Neptune as a token of her love. The Trident gives its owner great power and once belonged to Neptune himself (who disappeared with the other Gods when Men stopped believing in Them). All was well for a long time. But then Jones was seduced by a Siren villainess, who manipulated him into using Atlantica's trust in him to steal a sacred sunken treasure. She was furious with his betrayal and banished him from Her waves until he redeemed himself, and recovered every piece of the stolen treasure. Now he lives on the shores of the Great Lakes, the closest thing to the sea that he is allowed near. He surrounds himself with sea creatures and nautical trappings at the rundown Ocean World aquarium park and dreams of the day he can finally return to his True Love.

I'm interested in jumping in. It's been a while since I played H&H.

Two other people have told me they want to play in the last four days, but they haven't posted here yet. Regardless, let's assume that they will soon and get going. I will post stat rolls for Captain Neptune and Rons' as-yet unspecified hero a bit later today!

For Bob: STR 14 INT 13 WIS 13 CON 10 DEX 10 CHA 16 Starting money $800
For Ron: STR 13 INT 13 WIS 8 CON 10 DEX 13 CHA 12 Starting money $1,600
For Tim: STR 11 INT 10 WIS 13 CON 14 DEX 9 CHA 11 Starting money $1,100
Captain Neptune is one handsome guy! The stats won't likely help suggest too much to Ronny; he would be equally good as a Fighter, Magic-User, or even a Mysteryman. CaptainVictory/Tim has a bit more of a challenge there.

Sure, as "Jonesy" he looks shaggy, stoop-shouldered, and cantankerous, but when he bursts out of those blue button-downs and flexes the mighty muscles, you can see why the ocean Herself took a liking to the guy. (Seriously, he keeps a trunk full of those shirts, just so he can dramatically burst out of 'em on cue. Spending the starting $ to make it so, you betcha'!)

So, I'm thinking now of starting us in 1943 Minneapolis. Everyone will need a reason why they weren't drafted.
Do people have a preference for hideout-crawling vs. urban adventure?

How do you want us to generate characters? Never played this game except at Gary Con that one time.

Let me think. He does have a good Con and a good Wisdom. Superhero seems to be the best choice.
