the hotel is definitely open and with the Web keen investigating senses notices the door to the roof suddenly opens and then shuts. A strong breeze must have opened this and it looks like the roof access door, which should be locked, is instead unlock
( OOC for game effects made a secret save vs plot for out heroes, rookie mistake for our ninjas)

"Good point...I'm not dressed for going up to the front desk either. Our alternative seems to be going inside and making a room-by-room search of the whole hotel, which doesn't seem productive.
"Maybe we should call it a night. We can move on to our interview in the morning, then follow up here at the hotel later."

"Call it a night, or stumble blindly through that open roof door?"

"Well...I suppose it wouldn't hurt to check out one last door..." The Web said quietly. Then he raced to the door, tucked into a summersault, and barreled low through the door, hoping to catch by surprise the ninjas if they were waiting to ambush a normal height foe on the other side.
((If this is the end of the night, then I'm okay with burning another stunt; this one attempting to auto succeed a surprise roll, just in case the ninjas are really on the other side of that door...))

Arrowhead leaps over and crosses over to the Web, before their conversation occurs, assuming you both don;t want to be talking across roof tops. The web uses his gymnastics and flips open the door and tumbles through. He then sees the danger of this as the door opens briefly to a landing and a set of stairs that lead down to a door. The web manages to use the stair landing as a slide and I will let him slide down easily without damage ( Stunt used). Beyond the door opens up to a typical hotel hallway with many rooms to either side. This is not a large hotel so it is safe to say that there is this floor a 2nd floor and the main lobby. Nearby the web can see an elevator and another door that says stairwell.

The Web came back out. "There are too many places for them to hide in here, and they clearly don't want to be encountered," he told Arrowhead. "I cursed myself for so amateurishly following them earlier.
"Unless you have a new idea, I think we call it a night here."

"Amateurish? Maybe, but I would've done the same. You were just ahead of me. Yeah I don't think we'll find them now. Let's call it a night."

((Before we go, we need the name of this tiny hotel. In the morning, before getting ready for our interview, John scans the local newspapers for leads, particularly involving that hotel.))

The evening ends as both heroes head back to their hotels. The tiny hotel is called the the hotel Whitcomb
The morning comes as both heroes and their assistant head down to eat breakfast in the Howard Johnson's dining room. Before entering, the heroes sees multiple local newspapers that the hotel orders for guests to read. The heroes order breakfast and sees an article written by Julie Mayer of the Francisco Gazette. The article says, "the night-stalkers done it again, they have saved a local Japanese/american couple from being attacked by evil doers." Reading the article both heroes can notice a supportive bias to these night stalkers. Apparently for a while these heroes have been assisting the Japanese/america citizens for a while, despite the recent executive order by the President.

"Hmm, read this," John said, handing the newspaper around the table. "There are a surprising number of Japanese-Americans still free in San Francisco, aren't there?"
"We have until 10 before we have to be at the restaurant for our interview. It's not ideal, since we were hoping to interview her at home, but...it'll have to do. Anyone want to do anything before we go?"

"That *is* interesting," Charlie said, sipping his coffee. "I can't imagine it'll be long before the Feds crack down on this whole town."
"I can't think of anything I need to do. Just anxious to get this thing started."

((Sorry, didn't notice you were waiting on us to confirm. Actually, there is one more thing...))
John pulled Charlie aside at some point so Rose would not overhear this. "I know sneaking around the restaurant and looking for clues is not as ideal as we'd planned. Do you want to stick with that plan, or do you want to try searching her house alone while we have her busy at the restaurant?"

Charlie's eyebrows rose, and he grinned. "Say, that's a tops idea."
"They might get suspicious as they are expecting two photographers, but I'm willing to take the chance."

Leaving breakfast. the heroes take the Web-mobile and head to the restaurant, disguised in newspaper reporter identities. Arriving at the place , the restaurant is a very nice place. There is valet parking stand set up to take customers vehicles. The parking lot looks rather nice and the place looks to have the similar two level setup as the one in Los Angeles. The Valet is not on duty so the heroes park the car in one of the parking spaces. There are a couple of other vehicles parked as well. Surprising there is not a limousine or a nice luxury car parked in the main lot.
( the heroes have a map and the address for her. IS arrowhead and the web splitting up? the house is located outside of San Francisco. Looking at the map it is probably a good 10 to 15 minute drive)
In the morning Agent echo does his normal routine of helping the doctor and also checking in on the hobos. Crime has been quiet and he has tonight's meeting with this new group of helping american citizens. This may lead to the doll maker.
